Chapter 7 | When you don't double check the label

-one year later-

Scara just finished to count the money when he heard his phone ringing. He rolled his eyes as he picked up the phone. It was Miko.

"Hi Kuni!" The man gathered all his might not to break the phone as he took a deep breath.

"What is it, mother?" Scara could hear her fake gasp.

"Aren't you happy your dear mother called you?" He didn't respond. "Fine, fine. Nahida said Collei tried to call you and you didn't pick up so i dialed in ur number" the man blinked and frowned as he turned the speaker on and took the phone from his ear to check. 

"It doesn't show me that she called."Miko sigh.

"Technology isn't my thing, might be a bug tho. I have to let you at it now, i have a meeting with 'Miss Hina', bye-bye!"

"And she hung up-" Scara shook his head and called to Collei as he went and turn the 'closed' sign on the shop's door and locked it.

"Hi Scara!" The man smiled as he heard the girl's voice.

"Hi Collei, heard you tried to call me, miss me?" The girl puffed on the phone as Scara was caught off guard by a kid's voice on the background. 

"Yeah, but i just had to watch Iris and Heaven so much lately since Tighnari had some emergencies and i lost my mind. Those two really don't know how to play nice together..." Scara puffed as he looked at the road, waiting for Kazuha to pick him up.

"Yeah... Heaven has this talent, i can confirm..." he waited as he was met with just Collei's rushed steps on the background and Heaven on the phone.

"Hi Scara!" The man tried to hold on a laughter. 

"Hi Heaven, please be a good boy and hand the phone to Collei, please?" Scara rolled his eyes as he heard the foot steps and Collei as Heaven was obvious running with her phone.

"No! Only i talk with you!" The man chuckled as he heard then the boy's angry scream as Collei took the phone.

"Seems we will have to talk sometime later, those little ones won't let me stay on call-"

"No! Scara!" The dark haired man puffed as Collei had closed the call.

"And here she goes again..." he smiled to himself as he noticed his husband's car coming. "And here is the gardener boy" Kazuha stopped his car in front of the greenhouse as Scara got in it.

"Tired of work?" The freckled boy teased as Scara gave him the side eye.

"Isn't like you were even there to help-" he closed the car door and put on his seat belt. Kazuha rolled his eyes as he headed to the road. Scara felt a familiar wood like fragrance and turned to his husband. He couldn't quite tell where did he knew it from.

"Was the grass in the front yard dried when you cut it?" The dark haired man could swear he saw the fear on his husband's face and a sweat drop rolling down his temple.

"Ag- Yes, it was, i needed to water it since the heat was too much for it..." Scara looked suspicious.

"Are you hidding something?" Kazuha took his eyes off the road for a split second, shaking his head, then looked back.

"What do you mean?" Scara looked smug.

"Oh, are you preparing a surprise, i see, i will let you at it~" Kazuha shrugged, visibly distressed as he parked the car in the garage.

The two got out of the car and Scara immediately took out his phone as he noticed a message from Collei.

Collei Lily <3
Hii! I just finished watching ovet Heaven and Iris. I will come tomorrow by the flower shop to help you, as i told you last week

Scara (・ω・)
Great! We will need all the help for the event. Can Tighnari come?

He was about to close his phone as he noticed her typing.

Collei Lily <3
He can, and Miss Nahida too! She wanted us to pick her up.

The man sent a respons as he got in the house. Scara looked up from his phone to see Kazuha making some samdwiches. The fragrance was still there and he still couldn't shake the feeling that this wasn't good, but he did his best to ignore it.

"It might be my brain playing tricks on me-" he said to himself then the food distracted him. "Save some toast for me!"
