Matt pov

Mason grabbed Skylers arm forcefully and pulled her outside

I get up from my seat

" don't" Scarlett says

I sit back down

I looked to Sky chair and just remembering the way that she's stiffen to the cough that Mason made behind her,

" just leave them be for right now they'll come back and everything will be normal"

everyone else just carried on with their conversation. I look at Chris and me and him get up because it has been over five minutes.

" bro what the hell is going on?" Chris says as we walk out the door.

I shrug" I have no idea, but something is going on."

we get outside, but we don't see them we ended up splitting up. He went to the left and I went to the right. I went down that alleyway.

I stand there wide eyed as I just saw Mason slaps sky across the face

" what the hell is going on here" you get to both of them you grab Sky" go back inside" she walks away and goes inside

" why the fuck did you slap her?"

he freezes up " I didn't mean to"

" you probably should just go. I don't want there to be any more trouble."

he scoffs and walks away

I went back to the entryway and I saw Chris

" I saw them and you're not gonna believe what the fuck I saw" I said to Chris as we were walking inside

"what happened? " he replies.

"I saw him slap her across the face "

" what the hell oh fuck no who does he think he is?" he starts walking back outside.

" I already told him to leave"

we got to the table, but Skye isn't there

" i'm gonna go use the restroom real quick "I told Chris1 he nods his head and sits back down

I walk away and I get on my phone. I log into my Instagram and I see that Sky posted whenever she went to the bathroom with the girls

she looks so pretty when she's happy I love her smile

I was about to turn off my phone, but then I noticed that I saw a picture of sky in Mason arguing on the same drama page

I turned off my phone and started walking to the restroom

I really hope they didn't see the whole thing

can knock on the restroom door she cracks open the door, barely just to peep out

" hey is everything all right? Do you need anything?"she shakes her head." i'll be out in a minute." she says, in a weak voice.

I wait for her leaning up against the wall across the restroom

she finally comes out. I look at her. She's hiding her face with her hair I put her hair behind her ear. You can tell that there is a little red spot I give her a hug, wrapping my arms around her and putting my head into her neck.

we stay like this for a while

" please say you didn't tell everybody else" She leans back and looks at me

" I did tell Chris because he was out there with me, but I didn't tell anybody else" she nods her head, " remember that I will always be here for you Sky" I look at her softly and squeeze my arms around her protectively

she stares at me a long time and shakes her head then gulps" don't we have a birthday dinner to get back to" she gets out of my arms and fast walks away

I stand there frozen what the hell did I do just follow her back to the table

" so where were we?" I sit down.

" they're about to bring out the cake"Marissa says

sparklers and waiters are all I see coming around our table

Sky jumps up from being startled

everyone starts cheering

" happy birthday to you happy birthday to you happy birthday dear Max happy birthday to you" we all sing together as everybody is recording and cheering

" holy shit I didn't think that would actually hurt" Chris shakes his hand after he touched one of the sparklers.

" use your fucking brain dumbass" Nick replies, and hit him in the head

" who all wants cake" Marissa holds up a slice

" I do" Chris snatches the plate from her

Marissa offers one to sky. " you want one "She shakes her head no " i'm pretty full" I looked down at her plate, and she barely ate her salad
