⚠️ Long Chapter ⚠️
Since I am a BTS ff writer, I figured I'd write a chapter specifically for my fellow ff writers. This chapter covers my pet peeves with BTS ff.
If you've done any of these things or are planning to, please don't take it too seriously (minus the more serious topics, like romanticizing Korea and using the language in a disrespectful way).
Remember this is all opinion. Some of these pet peeves are just things I personally can't stand (the first one, for example), and some of them are more objective based on Korean culture.
None of this is meant to offend or upset anyone, so if you disagree, that's totally cool and I understand.
I'm a little nervous since this is a big chapter with a lot of opinions. Please remember to keep things civil in the comments, and I'm not here to debate anyone over exceptions and things like that. Let's keep things peaceful and nice.
Read the disclaimer if you haven't already.

Yeah, this chapter is long.
1) Stop Using The Same Four Names
I swear, if I see another Lee, Park, Kim, or Choi Y/n, I'm going to slam my head against my door.
(Joking)
There are countless Korean family names. Unless it's a "BTS' sister" type of story, please use a name other than Lee, Park, Kim, or Choi. Or any BTS name, like Jung, Min, or Jeon.
And this is specifically referring to Y/n characters, by the way. I don't mind original characters having one of those four names. For some reason, it only bothers me when it's a Y/n.
Although I do get tired of seeing the name "Aera." She's always a villain, for some reason.
2) Don't Use South Korea For No Reason
I cannot tell you how many times I've seen a story take place in SK for no reason other than, "Well BTS live in SK, so now my story is set there."
Use the location, please.
Your location is essential to your story. It determines the environment a character grew up in, their culture, their familiarity with their surroundings, and more. If you're writing a story where Y/n, or another female mc, is going to South Korea for the first time, it shouldn't be easy for her to adjust even if she's familiar with the language and comes from a Korean family.
