-Your POV-
"It's been quite a while since I even looked at them..." I mumble, kneeling before the wardrobe and drawers, fingers twitching.
While it had been years since I landed in this strange world, I still wonder where in the world I came from. It wasn't always hanging over my mind, the prospect of returning home, but at the moment, while I was stuck in my room with nothing to do but 'heal', it was all I could think about.
I crawled over to the wooden dresser and sat in front of it, recalling the day, all that time ago, when I fell from the sky. I had arrived in the most absurd outfit, but that had been discarded immediately. In order to survive in Hisui, you'd need more protection than the weird, foreign clothes I had.
Something urged me to keep the attire anyway, so I'd tucked it in a drawer and forgot about it. Out of sight, out of mind — or so the saying goes.
But now as I lay here on my futon bed, bored out of my mind, it suddenly occurred to me that I hadn't had a second thought about my home — my original home — in a long, long while.
That's what pushed me to check on the outfit.
With shaking fingers and a cold, anticipating heart, I slid the drawer open and snatched it out before I could think.
"Woah..." I tightly held the uniform securely in my grasp. Yes, it was a uniform. It had to be.
The thin, gray fabric was silky smooth under my hands. The sleeves were a darker shade of charcoal that matched the pants, while the main torso was a light tone. Emblazoned on the front jacket was a golden icon in the shape of a 'G' that struck me as extremely familiar. In the corner of my eye, I glance at the symbol of the Galaxy Team.
A similar emblem was stitched onto the navy blue sleeve of my kimono but twisted into a slightly different character. "Is it a coincidence, perhaps?" I ask myself, turning the uniform around in my hands.
Even though I wore this as a child, I strangely amuse myself with the thought of it still fitting me, as I can vividly recall the sleeves rolled up, but still falling past my hands, and the cuffs of the pants always dragging behind me.
But, wait... "How did I remember that?" I gasped, glancing down at the garment for answers, but nothing happened and I was returned with a deafening silence. I unfold the outfit and lay it out on the floor, scanning it. It appeared to be my size.
Without letting another second go to waste, I slip off my Galaxy Team kimono and pull on the rigid uniform. It wasn't as free-flowing and it was somehow a bit restricting to the point that it was harder to be as agile than in the night-blue outfit I usually wore as part of the Survey Corps.
An utterly intoxicating feeling of irresistible nostalgia and deja vu wafts over me like the ocean's waves and I feel my eyes droop. I blink once and sink to the floor. I blink again, and flashes of color and light spark against my eyelids. Another surge of familiarity overtakes me, and I let my eyes close and I drift into what I can only assume is slumber.
I'm met with the envisionment of a world I shouldn't recognize.
The scary thing is, the place where I stand now feels like I've walked her many, many times before. I knew this place... but at the same time, my chipped memories were faded and worn from being pushed away for so long.
"(Y/N)-chan!"
A high, feminine voice snaps me out of my thoughts.
I turn and see a younger me hooking arms with a teen girl who seemed not much older than the girl alongside her. My eyes widened when I recognized the female. Arezu-chan, the hairstylist who often tried new ideas she had on my hair.
"Aren't you just the smartest little thing?" She cooes, poking my nose, vibrant crimson hair curling around her jawline and sticking out in random directions. The scene doesn't register in my mind as I watch it play out before my eyes. "We couldn't have launched that attack without your brilliant solution!"
"Thanks, Mars-san." My younger self sighs, tucking a strand of (h/c) hair behind her ear.
Mars? What happened to Arezu?
Another person enters my line of sight. A male, with spiky aquamarine hair that curved into points that aimed for the sky. Wasn't that one of the bandits who often thieves from us in the Galaxy Team on expeditions? Coin, was it? I could've sworn that she was a girl, but...
"Saturn-san." My younger self calls. Wait, Saturn? Not Coin...?
He nods in recognition, bowing slightly. "Greetings, Miss Team Galactic Lieutenant (Y/N)."
Team... Galactic?!
