As they were down to their last song, Bill announced that the song would be Reden. Reden was my favorite song from this album. It was sang in German, but I knew what every word meant.
"I'd like to have someone up here for this song. It's a very special one, now let's see who the lucky one will be." Bill said to the crowd as he scanned the audience. I felt a bit sad as he would probably be picking up another girl from the crowd and having her on stage for this song. His finger was pointing across the crowd, until his finger pointed at me. He waved me over with his one finger as I tilted my head at him. He nodded.
Reluctantly, I stepped out onto the stage as the crowd bursted into cheers and screams. Bill reached for my hand, holding it tightly as he continued to speak into the microphone.
"Most of you may know my amazing girlfriend, Harley Davidson, from the band Chic Talkers!" He said with enthusiasm as the crowd cheered once more. He glanced at me with a wide smile. I raised my eyebrows, my smile probably bigger than his, if it were even possible.
"Believe it or not, but this song is about her. Even though we made it before she was my girlfriend, it was never about anyone. Until now." The beat to the song started playing as Bill danced with my hand still in his.
"Hallo, du stehst in meiner tür." He sang as he stared into my eyes. He pulled me in closer, my hands now on his shoulders as his one arm was wrapped around my waist. We continued to slow dance as he sand the song to me.
"Wir wollten nur reden. Und jetzt liegst du hier. Und ich lieg daneben, reden, reden." I chanted with him as the song played on. As the song ended with the chant, he pulled away and bent down on one knee. Called it.
"Reden, reden." The song ended as everyone cheered and clapped. My hands were brought up to cover my mouth. Tears slipped from my eyes as he chuckled into the microphone before speaking.
"Harley, would you make me the happiest man on earth, and marry me?" His words killed me. I nodded silently as he stood up and wrapped me into a big hug. He slipped the ring on my finger and I showed it off to the audience. With one last kiss, Bill and I happily walked off stage together along with his band members.
"I'm so happy for you guys!" Gustav exclaimed as he laid back into the couch.
"Thank you." I replied, still wiping my many tears that had managed to slip out during his proposal.
"I think we are going to head to dinner, right Harley?" Bill asked as he looked down at me.
"Sure. Just let me freshen up." I smiled back at him as I walked toward the backstage bathroom. I noticed my makeup was slightly smudged at all the crying I had done on stage. I scavenged for some concealer and mascara that I had leftover in my bag and began to apply some of it on. I ruffled my hair a bit in the mirror before walking back out.
"Bill! Let's go." I called out to him as he perked up from the arm rest he was sitting on. As we walked back to his car, his hand was pressed down on my lower back. He drove us to a fancy restaurant which was quite romantic. It had tall ceilings with pink chandeliers that hung perfectly from the roof. The tables were decorated with roses and two small candles on the side of the vase.
"This place is lovely Bill." I said as I scanned the large restaurant.
"Well we just got engaged. Why not eat at a lovely place hm?" His voice sounded lower than usual, I know that tone of voice.
"Don't get any ideas. You'll wait til we're home." I responded as I walked up to the host.
"Reservation for Bill." I said to the tall figure who stood in front of me.
"Of course, right this way." The host replied as he walked past many tables to get to ours. Bill walked behind me, his hand grazing the silk of my dress a few times before we made it to our table.
"Thank you." I responded as Bill and I sat down at our cute table.
We talked and drank the whole night until we eventually finished up our food and drinks. I knew exactly what I would be telling Gwen when I got home.
