--- Kim Nari POV
"Kimmy, do you want to skip the fan sign?" Rei asks as she continues to glance back and forth from my mark to Jungwon's.
"No, it's okay," I give her a small smile as we make our way to the fan sign.
"Hello! What's your name," a beaming Sunoo makes my day brighter as I smile back.
"Kim Nari but my friends call me Kimmy! I just wanted to say that you are amazing and keep up the hard work!" I encourage.
"Thank you, Kimmy!"
This continues until the last person. Yang Jungwon. Or should I say the last two, Yang Jungwon and Lee Sohee. "Hello! Congratulations both of you!" I beam despite the pain I'm feeling.
"Thank you so much," Jungwon smiles back as he signs.
We make some small talk and as the last people in line, I wait for Rei to get Jungwon's signature as the other members begin standing up. Suddenly, Rei asks, "If you two wouldn't mind, may I see your mark please? I was quite far but I haven't seen such a beautiful mark before."
Liar, I literally have the same mark. What are you up to, Rei? "Sure thing," the two smile as they show the dragon mark.
I instantly notice the difference not that the two would themselves but what shocks me next is Rei grabbing my arm and pulling up the sleeve for comparison. "It's as I thought," Rei says it, just loud enough for all the members to move over.
"Rei!" I hiss as she arches her brow.
"What's going on here?" Uncle's voice echoes out as he approaches us. "Nari? Rei?"
He glances down at the three wrists and instantly calls us for a meeting.
---
"It isn't possible for me to have two soulmates," Jungwon lets out a long sigh as he looks between me and Sohee. "I have known Sohee for months now and we love each other."
Ouch. Even though it is true that we are soulmates it doesn't mean we fall in love at first sight, but it hurts to know that he doesn't even want to respect the bond. "It's exactly because it isn't possible that I've called in for a mark analyst," Uncle responds as the Enhypen members pat Jungwon and Sohee on the back.
Right now, I probably just seem like a bitch interrupting a perfectly happy couple's lives. "Uncle, it's okay, they're happy as it is and there's no need. Maybe this is all just a mistake," I try to stop him, but the analyst arrives just on time.
"Good day everyone, may I quickly see all three marks please," the analyst asks as we all show him.
After a while, he states, "Jungwon and Nari's are a pair, but Sohee's is different."
Sohee begins crying up waterworks as she sniffles, "this has to be wrong, did you pay him to say that?"
Before I can say anything, Rei slams the table in fury, "Nari is one of the most morally correct people you will ever meet, she doesn't need to lie about soulmates."
"But what if she loves Jungwon, why wouldn't she lie?"
"Well, why wouldn't you lie? Don't you like him too?" Rei snaps back and I yank her down into a seat.
"Rei, enough," I huff at her pointedly. "Uncle, please just let this go. It's already late, I'm heading back to mine first, please."
"Nari, you'll be staying the Enhypen dorm," Uncle declares as Jungwon, Sohee and I stand up and yell, "What?"
"When soulmates first meet, they need to be within close proximity of each other. It's final," Uncle concludes before dismissing everyone.
Oh great. How great this night is.
---
Rei came with me to drop my things off at the dorm and it's finally just us two, Sohee and the Enhypen members. "Just so you know, I don't want to seem mean or anything, but I love Sohee, bond or no bond," Jungwon concludes as he and Sohee go into his room together.
The rejection hurts but what can I say honestly. "I'm sorry for how he's acting but Sohee and him have been a thing for a while now," Heeseung gives me a small smile as they all help me move in.
"It's alright, I honestly don't want to be the person to pull them apart and please don't think of me like that. I just want to live my life simple but can we all just be friends?" I ask hopefully.
"Of course, you seemed pretty cool at the fan sign," Niki comes over to give me a hug as I chuckle lightly.
"We're not taking any sides in this but we'd love to be friends with you, Nari," Jake gives that smile as they all begin saying good night and heading bac to their own rooms, leaving me and Rei.
"Kimmy, if anything happens, you know you can always tell me, right?" Rei reassures me as I give her a big hug.
"Love you, girlie," I bid her good night before dozing off.
---
I wake up early, only 5 hours of sleep. As a doctor, I know it's unhealthy but as a surgeon, it's not like I can get that much sleep. With this, I get out of bed and go for an early morning run. The fresh air clears my head as I begin processing the things that happened yesterday. My run passes by quickly as I head back up to the dorms to find Jay cooking up breakfast. "Do you want some help?" my voice echoes out as he turns and smiles at me.
"Oh, Nari, you're already up! Sure thing, go take a quick shower and you can help," he welcomes as I do as told and we begin cooking up some pancakes.
"We slept quite late last night, how much sleep did you end up getting?" he asks, curious as to how I got up so early.
"5 hours but it's good enough for me," I smile reassuringly but he doesn't seem convinced.
"You know, you should really sleep more."
"This is why you're the mum of Enhypen," I giggle as he chuckles along.
The other members soon come down for breakfast, Sohee and Jungwon, hand-in-hand as they laugh together. "Sorry about that," Jay whispers quietly, only me being able to hear. "I honestly never really liked her."
I shake my head with a small smile as we take seats and eat. Jay lets me sit between him and Jake who's chill and makes up good conversations. Jake and I get a stronger connection as he finds out that I went to school in Sydney for primary, both of us being Aussies. We speak fluently in English until Jungwon cuts in, "Don't leave us non-English speakers out of the conversation."
There's a hint of jealousy in his tone but we ignore it and switch back to Korean as we all find things that we all like. "Alright, guys, who likes mint choco ice cream?" Sunoo queries as everyone on the table fake vomits except from me and Sunoo.
"I would never have it," Sohee insults it. "It really shouldn't exist, and I don't get why anyone would like it."
"I like it, it tastes fresh," I comment as she looks disgusted, but Sunoo claps his hands delightfully.
"Kimmy, you should be my soulmate instead!" Sunoo exclaims, the whole table falling silent, and he slaps his mouth.
"Hyung," Niki whacks him gently as I laugh it off.
"It's okay, at least now I know who I'll be sharing my tub of ice-cream with," I joke lightly as we all chuckle nervously.
After breakfast, Sohee pulls me into my room and glares straight into my soul.
