--- Kim Nari POV
"Nari, you really are excellent for your age," my mentor, Doctor Park Eun-chae applauds me.
"Only because you taught me well," I grin as we hug each other.
Doctor Eun-chae is like my second mother, or my grandmother, who is always looking out for me and loves me. "Soon enough, you will not only be God's Right Hand in Korea but all over the world. I know you can do it and you are growing up so wonderfully."
"Thank you, halmeoni," I give her an extra squeeze before we move out from the operation rooms to the corridors to do our next jobs.
"Doctor Kim!" a voice calls out as my head snaps up and a familiar looking lady races over to me.
"Thank you so much! You saved my little boy's life. Thank you, thank you so much Doctor Kim!" Mrs Lee bows as she shakes her head and I smile at her.
"It is my role to save as many lives as I can. I hope Ha-joon gets better soon," I give her a hug as Doctor Jung calls for her to do a few last check-ups on Ha-joon.
As I watch her enter the room, an arm swings across my shoulder and I turn to see my best friend, Rei. "Good job Kimmy, you saved another one," she congratulates like a proud mum as she begins pulling out her phone. "Now that we have the holidays coming up and we are both free, I have a surprise for us!"
"Let me guess, you have another restaurant you want to try again?" I laugh as she pouts.
"It is not my fault that food can taste great but no, I...drumroll please," she arches her brow as I reciprocate the act but drum roll.
"Got us tickets to the next Enhypen concert and fan sign!" she shrieks, and I jump up and down with her.
"Girls, please change first and do not forget this is a hospital," Doctor Choi, our overseer, tuts us as we give sheepish grins and change up. "Rei, you are the older one and have more experience, you should know this by now."
We bid our goodbyes and head out as we eagerly chatter about the Enhypen concert. "I cannot wait to meet them all!" Rei squeals. "Honestly, you can always just drop by Uncle Bang, and you could have just 'bumped' into them."
"That really would not be fair to anyone else would it," I remind her.
"You and your morals," she huffs. "Hurry up and prepare then because the concert and fan sign are in two days."
Wait, what!?
---
"Back already, sweetie?" Uncle Si-hyuk, comes out from the kitchen with dinner in tow.
"Yep, thank you for dinner!" I squeal in delight to see my favourite dishes, curry and tteok-bokki. "How has work been?"
"It has been pretty well. I heard that Stray Kids will be coming back soon as well. Did Yongbok tell you, yet?" he replies.
"Yes, he told me earlier and Ha-eun is still gaming in that competition," I answer.
Dinner passes on quickly until the very next day, my 18th birthday.
---
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIMMY!" Ha-eun throws her arms around my neck as I enter the café where she and Rei were waiting for me.
"Long time no see, my little kitty," I squeeze her as we take a seat. "Are you not still in that gaming competition?"
"Yes, but the competition recommences tomorrow which is why I got today off to spend time with you both. It really is luck!" Ha-eun smiles brightly as Rei gives her a giant bear hug.
"So, did your soulmate mark appear yet?" Rei queries.
On one's 18th birthday, a soulmate mark would appear on one's wrist and it would match only one other person's in the world. Once you meet that person, you must both love each other otherwise the one who is facing one-sided love will face pain in their abdomen until they are in contact with their soulmate. It would not happen if you and your soulmate do not realise you two are soulmates but as soon as you do, the bond begins. "Yeah, my mark appeared this morning," I answer as I pull up my sleeve to show them my mark.
It is a beautiful dragon that seems to have heart shaped wings and beautiful sharp eyes that stare right into your soul. Animal marks were rare especially ones like dragons. "Aww, it is so pretty just like you," Rei and Ha-eun coo as I roll my eyes shyly.
"Imagine if it turns out to be an Enhypen member," Ha-eun teases as Rei laughs.
"Haha, so funny, that would be one in a million chances for that to happen. Just you wait to find yours, Ha-eun," I scoff lightly before we all begin catching up on each other's lives.
---
It is finally time for the Enhypen concert, and I am bursting with excitement. "Kimmy, open up!" Rei's voice echoes from the opposite side of my apartment door. "Makeover time!"
We pick each other's outfits and do each other's makeup. I end up wearing a cute white and beige checkered skirt with a ripped long sleeve black top and some killer black charger boots. My hair is let down with an X hair clip in my hair. Rei is wearing denim shorts and a black top that says 'endless love' in white with her beautiful brown hair tied up in a ponytail. She picks a pair of cute brown boots, and we begin to make our way to the concert.
"Who are you looking forward to seeing the most," she queries although my answer is probably pretty obvious.
"Yang Jungwon, he is my bias," I chuckle as she shakes her head with a smile.
The concert begins and we pour our heart out singing their songs. Throughout their entire concert, my eyes cannot stray from Jungwon and there is an unknown pull in my heart. I wonder what is happening, I think but let it be. Suddenly, as the concert is closing, Jungwon calls for a beautiful girl to come on from behind stage. She smiles brightly as they hold hands with love in their eyes and they stop in the centre of the stage. "Everyone, I want you to meet my soulmate, Lee Sohee," he declares as he pulls up their hands to reveal their mark.
My heart stops and I know Rei's does too.
