(M/n) didn't like to admit it, but he managed to sneak into the kitchen and asked Fry to give him his part of dinner before everyone else, which he -reluctantly- did, and he watched with a frown at (M/n), who was sitting in the corner of the room behind the door, eating his food in complete silence.

"Why are you even here, (M/n)?" Jack asked him, a little annoyed at him, for what reason? No one knew nor cared.

"I don't want someone to see me that's all," was all he responded, his hearing soon picking up the sound of voices and steps approaching the Homestead, "Just pretend I'm not here, please," he whispered when everyone started walking in to get their plates filled.

He stayed there until the Cooks left to the dining area as well, and slowly he got up from the floor, staying crouched and headed to the door, it creaked and he would've freaked out if all the noise hadn't muffled it. (M/n) stepped outside and made sure to stay in the shadows to avoid being spotted as he speed-walked his way to his treehouse, lighting on his feet as he did.

His steps were rushed as he climbed up the ladder and his hands were shaking when he lifted it, taking a deep breath before heading inside and closing the door, letting himself be engulfed by the darkness of his room, his sight getting used to it pretty quickly.

With a sigh, he laid on his bed and asked himself if ignoring Gally was the correct answer for this situation. There is -or was- something between him and Newt... And Newt seemed to dislike him as of recently, so maybe they were arguing because of (M/n)'s friendship with Gally? Was it so obvious that he had feelings for Gally?

He just didn't want to cause trouble between them, maybe if Newt saw that he wasn't near Gally anymore or not as much then everything would be okay, and... This was the only way to get rid of his feelings for Gally, he was sure there was nothing else he could do, except talk it out, and he just wasn't ready for that.

(M/n)'s mind began getting foggy, and this time around, he managed to fall asleep for a few hours, unaware of how troubled someone dear to him was feeling.

Gally had spent all dinner time glancing at the hallway, just in case (M/n) came by to eat. He was confused, extremely so, he had been acting strange since the previous day, and Gally had no idea why. He wanted to ask (M/n) what was going on with him, but he could never find him, he was always hiding.

And the thought of (M/n) ignoring him was painful, but Gally wanted to believe he wasn't like that, like everyone else, so when he saw that the ladder was raised, door and curtain closed, he decided he would give it one more day. If by tomorrow (M/n) didn't talk to him even once, he was gonna take it upon himself to make him talk. Being left in the dark was one of the things he hated the most.

He knew something was bothering (M/n), and he wanted to know what it was, and if he had done anything to upset him, that way, he could fix it.

"Could you take my spot on the Box today, (M/n)?" He looked over Doug's shoulders, just to make sure Gally wasn't coming toward them, and he frowned at the Builder.

"Why?"

Doug blinked, baffled. He didn't think of the possibility of being asked for a reason, and now... He had to make one up.

"Oh-! Uh, I... I uh..." (M/n) raised his eyebrows, expectantly, and Doug was getting more and more nervous by the second, so he blurted the first thing that came to his mind, "So I've been having some... Stomach problems and I... I'm sure I'll end up shiting everywhere if I do any kind of heavy lifting, and it would be-"

"Okay, I will. You don't have to tell me, Doug," (M/n) hurried to respond just to get him to stay quiet, and Doug smiled brightly at him, nodding and turning around to leave back to Mikah, who had been observing their conversation.
