It was a rather quiet afternoon in the Glade, everyone was doing their own thing, at their own pace. It had been a while since the last time it happened, and Alby couldn't help but feel curious about it, so he walked out of the Homestead to take a look.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until he saw the greenie sitting on the ground by the Box, all by himself. Winston had decided to not have the greenie working in the Blood House on his first day, he was just a kid after all and Alby understood that, he agreed to it as well, but he was expecting him to be working around, with anyone.

That, and Alby wondered where the twins were since they were supposed to help the greenie for a few days until he had somehow gotten used to the Glade and made, at least, a friend, not leave him to his own accord.

So he approached him. The greenie noticed his presence and seemed just a little bit intimidated by him, so Alby crouched down to his height, trying to show a friendly smile on his usual grumpy face.

"Hey, where are Derek and Sean? Why aren't they with you?" He looked down, his curls slightly bounding around at the movement, and he shrugged.

"I don't know, they left me after breakfast..." Alby frowned and looked around when the greenie began picking at the grass around him.

He wasn't sure what he could do, he never had to deal with someone much younger than him, usually they would be around his age or so, but this greenie was just a kid, "Want me to look for them?"

"No...!" The greenie panicked, and shook his head, "I don't want... To be with them..." He finished off with a whisper when he realized Alby's reaction to his sudden outburst, "Sorry." He quietly said.

At this, Alby sensed something was off, so he decided to not push the subject, instead, he asked something else.

"Well, is there anyone in particular you want to be with?" The greenie nodded, hesitantly looking up at Alby again.

"(M/n)."

He was busy chopping more logs for Fry since the majority were used on last night's bonfire, and he needed more for the rest of the week, so he offered to cut more wood for him. With a sigh, he reached for the bottom of his shirt and wiped the sweat off his face before holding the handle and getting ready to continue working.

"(M/n)!" He stopped his movements when he heard Alby calling for him, and he turned around, watching the Leader jog his way to him, "Hey, could you take care of the greenie?"

He really wanted to say no straight away, he's had bad experiences with the greenies that came up after him, and he had developed some sort of trust issue, knowing that an innocent and cute face didn't mean they wouldn't cause trouble, but he gave Alby a chance to explain, "Why?"

"He doesn't want to be with the twins, and I don't think he wants to be near the Sloppers either," (M/n) frowned unconvinced, he really wasn't sure if that was enough reason, "He asked for you, alright? Plus, he's just a kid, could you? Just for a day?"

Alby turned around and pointed toward the Box, where that mop of brown curls remained in place, and (M/n) looked there too. He felt bad for the kid, so with a heavy sigh, he handed the hatchet in his hand to Alby.

"Fine, but you're finishing my work," and he left the Leader all by himself.

(M/n) took wide and quick steps toward the greenie, and sat on the ground diagonal to him. They stayed quiet for a few seconds until he couldn't handle the awkward air anymore.

"So... How are you doing, greenie?" He saw how his chubby hands ripped grass blades off the dirt and twirled them around his fingers.

"Not good," he whispered, making (M/n) frown.
