In the hustle and bustle of U.A. High's cafeteria, Shoto Todoroki felt unusually hot – and it wasn't just his quirk acting up. He was surrounded by his friends, who were giving him pep talks of varying effectiveness.
"You got this, Shoto!" Uraraka cheered, punching the air. "Just be yourself!"
Iida adjusted his glasses, "Remember, communication is the key! Approach the situation with clarity and confidence."
Mina, ever the drama queen, was on the brink of tears, "Oh my gosh, this is so romantic! He's totally gonna say yes!"
Shoto took a deep breath, steeling himself. "Alright," he said, rising from the table. "I'm doing this."
His friends watched with bated breath as Shoto walked over to where Bakugou was sitting, engrossed in a meal. Every step felt like he was walking on a thin layer of ice, fragile and nerve-wracking.
"Hey, Bakugou," Shoto began, trying to sound casual.
Bakugou looked up, a piece of rice sticking humorously to his cheek. "What do you want, Icyhot?"
Taking another deep breath, Shoto blurted out, "Would you like to go out with me?"
There was a beat of stunned silence. The entire cafeteria seemed to fall quiet. Then, Bakugou, ever the king of unexpected reactions, squinted suspiciously at Shoto.
"Why?" he demanded.
Shoto blinked, "What?"
"Why do you want to go out with me?" Bakugou pressed. "Is this some kind of weird training thing? Or a dare?"
Flustered, Shoto stammered, "No! It's just...I thought we could...you know..."
"Spit it out, Half-and-Half!"
"Because I... like you," Shoto managed to say, cheeks reddening.
Bakugou seemed to analyze him for a moment, then, with a dramatic roll of his eyes said, "Why would you like me? I'm loud, aggressive, and constantly blowing stuff up."
Shoto, feeling a mix of emotions, replied, "Well, that's... kind of why?"
Bakugou looked genuinely confused. "Wait, you're into that?"
Shoto shrugged, "Maybe? It's... cute?"
Bakugou's face went through a series of hilarious contortions, oscillating between surprise, disgust, and disbelief. "I am NOT cute," he grumbled.
"I think you are," Shoto persisted.
The explosive teen sighed, running a hand through his spiky hair. "Look, Todoroki, I've got a lot on my plate. Trying to be the number one hero, training, and other stuff. I can't deal with... this, right now."
Shoto nodded, feeling a sting of rejection but also a bit amused at the whole situation. "Alright, Bakugou. Thanks for being honest."
As he walked away, there was a chorus of reactions from his friends. Uraraka looked ready to fight Bakugou, Iida was offering words of consolation, and Mina was already plotting Shoto's next romantic venture.
