Kira stood before me with eyes wide and mouth slightly open. Even though she lied to me, telling me she would get me out of the Crow's Nest, it was nice to see an old friend.
"Oh my God. I can't believe it's really you. Last time I saw you we were celebrating our success on that mission in-"
"New York. Where you got stabbed and I had to stitch you up." I interrupted as I stood up brushing the dirt of my pants and stretching my legs.
"Uh, what's going on? When did you get stabbed?" Kai asked, clearly confused.
"Well-." And I told our story.
Kira hissed through her teeth as I poured disinfectant onto a stab wound from an enchanted blade on her side. Blood and rubbing alcohol dripped onto her pants, leaving barely visible spots on the black material.
"Suck it up you wimp. It's not that bad." I say threading a needle with suture. She sat on a wooden stool in the medical ward and I stood over her fixing the wound up.
"Yeah well, unlike you, I don't heal in three seconds." She grunted out. Reaching over I grab her black hoodie from the opposite stool and toss it to her.
"Here hold on to this and take your pain out on it." I say and she nods, gripping it tightly. "Ready." I nod back and start to weave the needle through her skin.
She lets out a hiss but keeps it together. The needle made a gross squishing sound as it tore through skin, lacing the wound back up.
I made the final stitch, tied it off, and cut of the end. Kira let go of the jacket and pulled down her shirt that was still a little damp with sweat.
Setting aside the bloody needle, I trade it for a red bottle of antibiotics.
"Here." I toss the bottle to Kira and surprisingly she caught it. "Take some of those." She pops open the top and pours out a couple, throwing them into her mouth she swallowed them.
"Thanks." "No problem." I reach behind my head and grab smooth my jet black hair back. Pulling it into a ponytail I hold it in place with a hair tie.
"Ready to go?" Kira asked when I finished. She held my jacket out to me and I snatched it from her hands. "Yep. Let's go." I reply and we both walk out of the medical ward and down the white halls to the celebration.
"You know, you are actually very good at this sort of stuff. You know, patching people up. Were you like taught this?" She said as she scratched the back of her head. "Well thank you. I taught myself."
"Oh God! I'm gonna die!" Kira yelled and clung onto me. "But I'm so young!" She fake cried. I rolled my eyes and smacked her on the arm. "Haha. That's hilarious."
"I'm only joking." "I know." With Kira straightening up we continued on our way.
We rounded a corner and found ourselves in the East Wing. Continuing down the never-ending halls we pass by doctors in white lab coats carrying clipboards and patients in gowns.
"Hey!" A voice calls from one of the rooms we passed. Kira and I stopped and turned towards the voice.
Standing in the doorway was a man with blue hair and piercing green eyes that stood out against his dark olive skin. He leaned against the white metal door frame leading into the laboratory.
"Where are a pair of pretty girls like you going this late in the evening?" He asked with a smirk. "The party I suppose?"
"Why yes we are Senon. Would you care to join us in our journey to this party?" Kira replied with a flash of her white teeth.
