They first met each other when she was visiting his place. There was an elderly woman who developed a strange illness and lost her sight. She was an immigrant who had to leave her homeland due to poverty.

After thanking her, the elderly woman inquired about her. The princess understood the possibility of the elderly woman becoming frightened if she revealed her true identity. Instead, she presented herself as a regular woman from the neighbourhood. They talked for a while. The old lady was happy to have her company. She asked her whether she could visit her daily. The princess agreed. Her sister was waiting for her arrival in town while this was happening. It was getting late. She grew anxious.
The ruler of the state was informed of this situation. Prince Minseon, his son, was given the mission of finding her. It would be a great shame if the visitors to his province were attacked or left with a bad experience while they were there. He went to the border after spending many hours searching. He noticed the royal chariot there, which was parked alongside the river with a few soldiers nearby. When he approached them, they respectfully bowed. When he asked where the princess was, they replied that she was inside the tent with the old lady. He received a full account from them. The prince wondered how a Princess could spend time with an old lady while her sister anxiously searched for her. He entered the tent and saw the princess feeding the blind old woman some hot soup.

When she turned around, all she saw was a young man-likely a prince-looking bewildered and dressed in a regal robe.
The sudden arrival of a visitor at the elderly woman's home startled her. "Who's there? A princess?" she asked confusedly.
"Yes Grandma, she is Princess Hye-Jung," Prince Minseon responded. "Her sister was worried because she hadn't shown up in town to meet her, so I went looking for her."
The old woman asked, "My child, are you a princess? Why did you lie then?"
After giving Prince Minseon a serious look, Princess Hye-Jung responded. "Pardon me, Grandma. I thought you might get intimidated if I said I am a princess."
