CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Everything remained the same for the next few months. Only peace and happiness. Even so, the king was driven by a burning desire to identify his foe. But no information was found. King Taeho was certain that a formidable foe was latent and would one day emerge.

But why? What was the reason?

Time moved on.

Eight months had passed since the coronation of the king. Prince Tejas made an unexpected trip to Taeho's palace one day. King Taeho was overjoyed to finally see his friend again. Many things have changed since they last met. The friends had a lot to talk about. He was like a family member. The ministers went to speak with them. They all treated him as if he were their own. Both King Taeho and Prince Tejas went out for a ride. They went to the same place where they met before Prince Lim Jae Wook's death. This place brought back a lot of memories. It was like the three brothers' secret place where they would meet to spend time together. But one of them is no longer alive.

Prince Tejas was able to understand the pain, and he tried to cheer up Taeho. They talked about the sudden attack of the enemy, state affairs, family, and the future. Prince Tejas talked about a princess whom he happened to see when he went to meet his grandfather at Ananyapuri. He described how he had already started to fall in love with her and that he might eventually get married to her. Taeho was surprised by his confession. He was aware that not just any woman would appeal to his friend, but rather someone special. He recalled Rani Nanda, the mother of Prince Tejas, talking about how he used to pass up other provinces' princesses who longed to capture his attention. He merely remarked, "They do not seem to interest me." Taeho was delighted that Prince Tejas had, at last, found his soul mate.

He asked about his sister when he mentioned his grandfather. He knew that she was staying with him for a long time.

"Oh yes, Tejaswini, she has gotten older and is still with our grandfather", Prince Tejas said in response.

Taeho recalled their childhood. How much fun they had playing whenever they visited one another.

Everything's past; look forward to the future.
