Later in the night, Elena chatted with Amelia updating her on life as they promised to each other to meet the sooner the better. They haven't seen each other in such a long time, and right now when they are both off work, would be the perfect time.

...

"Are you ready for the vacation of your life?" - Isa asked her as soon as Charles and Elena approached them in front of their jet. "More than ready. Though I hated waking up this early." - They boarded the jet and sat across from each other with Isa having her head on Carlos' shoulder.

Elena had her legs over Charles' while he caressed her thigh slowly as she felt like drowning back in deep sleep with each movement of his hand. The moment of peace she had been searching for a long time. That state of mind gave her peace she wished to be with all the time.

No stress. No pain. No worry. Just herself and the man she couldn't even think about having for herself few months back. She wouldn't believe in fact that worldwide famous person would bring her such comfort in life. He made her inner child, that once dreamed of having a Barbie wedding, feel like it can all become true.

She remembered how she used to watch Barbie's clothes transform into beautiful wedding dress after finding the love of her life in the most unexpected ways and on crazy places. She dreamed of having magical wedding under starry sky with the love of her life in her arms, taking her for their first dance.

He made her feel like it could be possible. Of course she imagined their future together, children, house, and their careers. What would happen to them? But the worry always melted away as she knew that time for any of that is still not near. They were still in early stage of relationship to think about marriage and children. But it wasn't forbidden to dream about happiness that will maybe, one day, come true.

They had their ups and downs, but she felt like if he asked her to marry him in this very moment, she would've folded and accepted it. She was blinded by the feeling he made her feel whenever they were together, and even when they were apart she still felt him near.

There was no hell with him. Even when he wasn't near, there was some piece in her mind, knowing that they still had each other.

Charles on the other side felt something he has never experienced before. Elena has awakened something in him, a totally other person. He doesn't recognize himself sometimes. But she has changed him for good. Teaching him about patience, and control between desire and love they shared.

Every time after a bad race she would show him the brighter side of it, and because of their small talks, he had never felt better about himself. He always knew she was somewhere supporting him, watching his every move, wherever she was in the world. She had his back.

He didn't know how much of his feelings did she feel, but he knew that between those arms and on those lips, he felt like home. Something that no other girl made him feel.

At some points in their relationship, he stayed awake, thinking if life would've been different if some things never happened? What if... what if?

What if cancer never won?

A question that came a lot of times. Would she be having talks with his father about him? Would his father embarrass him in front of her? Would they be cheering together with the rest of his family in the back of his garage?

What if? What if? What if?

Would this? Would that?

He liked to believe that deep down, his father sent the woman who now silently slept in his arms with her legs over his as once again he stayed awake, thinking... What if? What if? What if?

And he always thanked him for her. He believed she was an angel in human form sent from the sky to him, from his father. She sometimes reminded him of his father. The way they would both mess up his hair after he would complain about it. The way she explained to him the importance of being grateful for being where he is.

The only thing that changed is him. He wasn't a boy who held his father's hand as they walked around karting circuits. He was a man, proudly holding the hand of the woman he loves.

It is scary to confirm such a strong feeling. But when you find someone worth the risk, the scariest thing is losing them. Not the thought of falling in love and being hurt. But losing the person forever. To the point you can't even find them breathing on the ground you stand on. But somewhere underneath it.

But there is a better place. There always will be. The world we live in right now is just the test to see how well do we put up with hurt, agony, grief, anger... love? Nobody knows what happens if love kills you, because if you die happily in love, someone else wasn't happy for you, so they took you from that person. Either a person or some higher power of nature. Jealousy is the death.

But with Elena? Everything was worth the risk. As long as he knew she was there, somewhere safe. If she will not get the happiness she deserved with him, he would happily leave her to find it with someone else as long as it meant she is safe and settled.

If the devil knew how good this heaven was with her he would ask for forgiveness in the return for his eyes. So he won't see the beauty worth sinning again. The feeling of her close would be enough. That's how Charles felt about Elena.

He only had one mission... to make this vacation the time of her life, or maybe their lives if she accepts to spend it with him for evermore.
