Alexandra is 5 years old in this chapter
A few months later
Alexandra ran through the corridors of the Temple. The Jedi Council was gathered to discuss Ahsoka's reprimand for disobeying direct orders in the field. And Alexandra was late.
To be fair, it wasn't her fault. She had been getting her Venator ready for her next mission when she got the alert and instead of orbiting Coruscant, it was orbiting Centax-1, Coruscant's furthest moon, and the Jedi Council did not give her a lot of notice.
Alexandra stopped in front of the massive doors and took a deep breath, then she walked in calmly and took her seat.
"Apologies, traffic was bad," Alexandra excused as she sat down.
Master Yoda leaned over and whispered, "Lying, you are, on Centax-1, you were."
After Kenobi and Alexandra gave their descriptions of the incident, Master Windu asked, "Padawan Ahsoka, do you feel that Master Kenobi's and Master Skywalker's descriptions of the incident are accurate?"
Ahsoka sheepishly replied, "Yes, my Masters."
"More to add, do you?" Master Yoda asked.
"I know I was wrong," Ahsoka said. "I just got so caught up in my own success. I didn't look at the battle as a whole. I wasn't being disobedient. I just..." Ahsoka hesitated, "forgot."
"Masters, this incident is my responsibility," Anakin argued calmly. "Because of Ahsoka's advanced abilities, I forgot how young she is. I gave her more freedom than I should have."
"That may be, but it doesn't excuse what happened on Felucia," Master Windu explained. "I think she needs some time away from the battlefield."
"You can reflect on your actions whilst on archive security, Padawan," Alexandra said. It always felt weird when the situation demanded she be more formal with those she was close with.
"Guard duty?" Ahsoka exclaimed, then sheepishly asked, "For how long?"
"Longer now," Master Windu said, disappointed.
Once Anakin had left to take Ahsoka to the Archive, Alexandra, Obi-Wan, Yoda and Windu continued to talk.
"I would like to stay here and speak with and guide Ahsoka," Alexandra said.
"You have become quite invested in Ahsoka's training, Alexandra," Windu commented.
"I want to see her succeed, the same as any other Youngling and Padawan," Alexandra explained.
"I know, but this is more than normal for you."
"Well, I've spent a lot more time with her than most and have seen what she is capable of. She is abnormally connected to the force."
"I've noticed that," Obi-Wan remarked. "But her m-count was far from abnormal and she has displayed quite normal sensitivity to the force."
"That may be, but I sense the force is invested in her, almost like it has plans for her." When the others looked at her perplexed, she continued, "Whenever I'm with Ahsoka and using the force, I can feel a thicker cloud surrounding her than most others, like the force in the area is converging on her."
As Master Fisto entered the Holocron Vault, Alexandra emerged. They greeted each other kindly before Alexandra joined Ahsoka and Jocasta on the tour.
"Did you find what you needed, Master Skywalker?" Jocasta asked.
"I did, thank you."
At the end of the tour, Alexandra turned to Ahsoka. "Come, let's walk and talk for a bit."
Alexandra led them through the temple and into the gardens. As they came into the orchard, Alexandra asked, "Ahsoka, what made you believe you had the upper hand during that battle?"
"From where I was standing it looked like they were in retreat, which I guess they were, but I couldn't feel or see the backup until we were in the air," Ahsoka explained.
"I see, but I guess the more important question is, why didn't you listen when both Master Kenobi and I were telling you what was happening?" Alexandra brought them to sit on a bench facing the Great Tree.
"Like I told you and the other Masters, I was so caught up in what I thought was a success, I couldn't believe that I was really about to lose."
"That is then the first thing you must work on, Ahsoka." Alexandra smiled. "Your ability to set the euphoria of success aside and focus on your surroundings, beyond what you can see with your eyes."
Alexandra's communicator beeped. "I'm needed elsewhere. Return to the archives, Ahsoka, we can talk more later."
Alexandra ran off and met Master Yoda as he was heading towards the Central Security Station.
"Master, what's going on?"
"Intruders, we have." Master Yoda answered simply before entering the Station.
"Arrived, the intruders have," Master Yoda said as he walked towards Master Kenobi.
"But if they are not in the tower, what are they after?" Obi-Wan asked.
"The communications centre, perhaps, their target is," Yoda answered.
"They must be in the central ventilation system," Alexandra said as she searched the temple. She was far from perfect when there were this many force sensitives in one place, but she trusted her instincts.
"Let me check the system," Obi-Wan said. "You're right. There has been a disturbance." Obi-Wan turned to Anakin. "It's near the top of the south tower."
"I'll meet you up there," Anakin said before he hung up the com.
"On high alert place the temple," Yoda instructed.
Once the alert was set, Alexandra and Obi-Wan ran off. Ahsoka's supplementary training would just have to wait.
Alexandra stood with Anakin and Obi-Wan in the vents heading towards the communications centre. "Wait," she said as she searched the force, "the intruders are not heading towards the communications centre."
"Then where?" Anakin asked.
Alexandra looked to Obi-Wan. "The Holocron Vault."
Together they ran back the way they came and towards the Vault. Although Anakin and Obi-Wan remained convinced that the intruders were heading towards the communications centre, Alexandra was not so sure, so they split up at the Vault. Alexandra stayed there and hid, while Anakin and Obi-Wan rushed to the communications centre.
As Bane entered and took one of the Holocrons, Alexandra jumped at him. He managed to throw her off him and into a wall, but she recovered quickly and used the force to hold him in place.
"What do you want with that Holocron, Bane?" Alexandra demanded.
"I'm just doing my job, little Jedi," Bane retorted. "I am simply retrieving it for my employer."
As he spoke Alexandra used the force to gently place a tracking chip on Bane's hat. When he turned around to shoot at her, she dove to the side and let him go. Unfortunately, when she emerged from the Vault she found his hat abandoned in a little corner, next to an unconscious Jedi Knight.
As she, Anakin and Ahsoka left the Archive, she could feel Yoda watching them. Thinking.
Alexandra stood back as the transport roared to life and started to leave. Just before Ahsoka and Anakin got out of hearing range, she shouted to Ahsoka, "Don't forget what we discussed!"
Ahsoka nodded, and then they were gone.
