She was standing in front of him, wearing a lot of pink and a bunch of bracelets on her wrists. She and her friends looked all the same, as if a unicorn threw up on them all shinny, happy and pink, laughing and talking probably about boring girly stuff. The queue was moving slowly and he was wondering what those girls were doing, they didn't look like football fans at all, but he didn't give it much thought, his eyes hurt just by looking at them.
Next to him, James and Nick were fighting about the game, as usual. Nick was a die hard fan of the chiefs like the rest of their friends but James on the other hand was with the bears but just because they were going against the Kansas city team; it's like he had some kind of vendetta against them.
- 20 bucks! - said James
- You seem pretty sure - Nick laughed - you are gonna eat your words loser.
Because of it, James was the only one who wasn't wearing a red chiefs jersey. However, they were all really excited for the game; it was a gift from the university sports center to some players of the team so they could see a professional team play. And maybe one day one of them could be part of the NFL, that was the dream of every guy in the team.
The queue to enter Arrowhead stadium finally started to move faster and minutes later they were finally at the gate. They looked up, it was so big. It was their first time going to a game as most of them were tight on money and were there thanks to a scholarship to play football, they were amazed. Everything was red, the walls covered up with frames and pictures of the most famous team players, the flags that almost reached the floor were hanging way up above their heads and even the seats and tables in the cafeteria were red.
They checked their tickets and let them in just behind the group of girls who looked like they had already been there.
They immediately caught James' attention, yeah, he was definitely a skirt-chaser. He didn't hesitate and walked up to them with a smirk on his face.
- Hey girls!
The three of them turned around surprised and looked at each other before answering him back.
- Hi
James smiled, he knew he was attractive and girls loved him, he was 6 foot tall (or that's what he said, that's what they always said), with dark curly hair and his eyes had a special sparkle that he knew exactly how to use. And that's all he had to work with because using his brain was usually his least favorite thing to do.
He explained to those girls that he didn't know how to find their section or their seats, and they offered to help.
- So you've been here before? - James asked them.
"Yeah, of course, small talk" thought his friend who had been silent the whole time. Caleb didn't even like those guys, they just played together.
- Yes, I was here a few months ago - said one of the girls with a huge smile on her face - I came to The Eras Tour.
"Oh god, not another groupie." Caleb thought to himself, thinking about his sister a few years younger who was obsessed with Taylor Swift and was really annoying about it.
Apparently he couldn't hide his reaction well enough because the "groupie" stopped smiling and looked at him raising her eyebrows with a very serious look on her face.
- What's wrong with it?
Caleb looked right into her eyes, not afraid to confront her.
- Nothing - he said - I just think she is overrated.
The girl nodded passive aggressively, and turned around with a look of disgust in her face.
- Let's go girls, they can find their seats by themselves.
