Rubys POV

I knew what I had to do and who I had to see. I looked at Damons sleeping form next to me whilst I got up. I silently tiptoed out of the room and onto the landing. I grabbed my phone out of my shorts pocket and dialled the number I knew oh so well.

"Yeah?" A voice said.

"Ebony? It's Ruby. Bet you never thought you'd hear from me again." I smirked.

"Can't say I was expecting it. So why have you called me at 2 in the morning? This better be good." She muttered the last part.

"I need your help with something, something...big." I sighed.

"Oh?"

"Recently I've been having these really bad dreams and flashbacks about my past before I was turned. Some good, some bad. But Damons starting to see through it and I can't get him involved in this." I confessed.

"I'm guessing this is to do with Klaus?" She asked.

"Yeah and he's after the doppleganger, Elena, and if he finds her, he'll find me too." I sighed again.

"You know where to go, meet me there tomorrow at 3. We can get some answers." She said and the line went dead.

Ebony was my best friends back in 1300s. I found out she was a witch around the same time I found out about vampires. Whenever I had a problem, I could go to her. We had grown up together and she helped me through my transition. Anyway, I went back into the bedroom and put my phone away. I crawled into bed and snuggled into Damons chest. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up and saw that Damon was still asleep. I got up and had a shower. I changed into a zip-back, floral shirt, skinny jeans and converses. I curled my hair and did my make up. I went back into our room and saw that Damon was still sleeping. I rolled my eyes but went and hovered over him. I leaned down and kissed him softly. After a few seconds, his lips responded and his arms wrapped around my waist. I pulled back and saw his eyes open.

"Good, your awake." I smirked.

"Good morning too you too." He said sarcastically. "Sleep well?"

I nodded. "Yep." He smiled and kissed my forehead. "I'm going out today around 3 so you'll need to occupy yourself." I said kissing him again.

He nodded. "Where you going?" He asked.

"Just meeting a few friends, nothing major." I said. He didn't look convinced. I knew he wouldn't let it go so I changed the subject. "You thirsty? I was thinking about going out for a bite soon." I said.

"Cool, and yeah I am. Where we going?" He said.

I shrugged. "Don't know yet. We'll find somewhere." I paused. "So you better go and get dressed." I said and rolled off him. He groaned but got up and went into the bathroom after grabbing some clothes. I laughed but grabbed my phone as soon as the door locked. I scrolled down the list until I found the name I was looking for.

I'm good for 3, you know where.- R

I pressed send and waited for a reply. A few seconds later my phone buzzed.

You sure Damon doesn't suspect anything?- E

I sighed but started typing.

He did but I got him off the scent. I can't get him involved in this.-R
