EJ POV
Jack stood by the front door in the living room as he watched grandpa Joe fill out a cross word puzzle. It was only a brief visit to make sure everything was okay.
"Oh Joe! You're still doing that puzzle?" Sylvia huffed as she walked into the living room and sat down
"Yeah he's quite keen" Jack smirked.
He continued to get lost in his mind thinking about Sally. Everything that happened since the day they met up until now flashed through his mind.He suddenly snapped himself back to reality as Joe and Sylvia went back and forth about the puzzle and which answers were right.
"I'm sorry I need to head off now" he told them getting ready to go.
"Oh no problem dear! Come back again!" Sylvia called out with a smile.
"Thank you for inviting me in" he nodded before leaving.
He left the house and immediately went around the back and straight towards the tree line into the woods.
He couldn't help but think back to before he met Sally.
He was a murderer. A cannibal. A flesh eating monster, he didn't care about a damned thing. And now all he did was care for her.
Once he got far enough into the woods he sat down with his back to a tree as he got a jar out of his bag. The rotting kidney inside the old blood stained jar sent his heartbeat into his head as he felt himself become consumed with hunger.
He undid the jar and it released a putrid smell but he didn't hesitate to bite into it.He then quickly had to swallow his mouthful as he pulled his vibrating phone out of his pocket.
"Hoodie?" He spoke as blood drooled down his chin.
———
Hoodie POV"Hey" he muttered as he leaned against a tree, he was looking around to ensure he was alone. "I just got some news from slender and Sally ran away during some sort of episode"
———
Jack POV"Wait-what?" Jack straightened his posture as he grew concerned
"It's fine...she's back home safe, it turns out she was in an intense state of paranoia she thought she was being chased."
———
Hoodie POV"The scary part is how easily she slipped away in a panic without us even noticing...she didn't even trust us when she thought her life was at risk" he couldn't help but express his concern.
———
EJ POVHoodies voice was weak, he wasn't recovering as well as EJ had hoped, he shouldn't have used the last of his strength...even after slender man visited hoodie, it fixed nothing...he still couldn't use his abilities and is continuing to get weaker by the day.
"There's only so much you can do, it's up to
her on however long it takes to heal. Just be there for her however she needs"———
Hoodie POV"Alright" hoodie agreed returning to his blunt tone.
"Before you go..." EJ added before hoodie could hang up. "How are you feeling?" He asked concerned.
"I'm...fine" hoodie muttered "just tired"
EJ POV
"You?"
"Fine also..." he replied.
Hoodie POV
He walked off back to the house feeling defeated that he couldn't do more to help, he pushed his feelings down and his eyes zoned off, his face returning stoic.
Reader POV
"They're slowly getting better" hoodie assured me as he wrapped me in new bandages. "Any pains? Aches?"
"...always" I huffed with a small smile "but I'm okay, really"
Hoodie let his hands leave my arm and gently rest upon his lap as we sit properly on the edge of my bed in my shared room.
"I'm here if you need to talk you know...sometimes it's nice to have a rant without anyone reacting, it just helps to blow off the steam"
"I appreciate it" I looked down avoiding his gaze.
"Okay..." he gave a small nod before getting up to leave. I sat by myself for a while, it was hard to be around people and I needed find ways to distract myself whilst i was alone.
I pondered looking around until I saw my gaming console next to the tv in the room and I couldn't help but let out a small smile as I go to turn it on. Why not do one of the things I love most?———
"I give up" I sigh to myself frustrated, I was sat on my bed and I lean back against the pillow that was propped against the wall.
I was annoyed with the game and it had only been 20 minutes. It was hard getting used to gaming after being dead for a month and being brought back into living in hell.My focus left the game and centred on the middle of the screen as a text appeared.
'Need help?'
It took me a second to realise until Ben crawled out of the screen and stood up in front of me.
"It's agonising watching you play" was all he said as he sat next me, leaning against the wall too.
"I just can't get used it...I used to be good" I tell him feeling hurt.
"It sucks being dead and brought back to life doesn't it? Okay, let's try this" he began to stand up.
"What are you doing?" I ask confused but he didn't answer as he sunk into the tv with a smirk.
The game suddenly switched to the hardest difficulty and continued playing, I quickly do my best to take control of the character and stay alive as the game wouldn't pause.
"Ben!" I exclaim "I'll have to restart!"My panic soon subsided as I noticed, despite the newly selected difficulty, it was somehow easier to kill the enemies. They would react slower and give me a chance to strike, my aim bot latched onto them more accurately, as if I were being guided.
I couldn't help but chuckle as I saw messages appear in the corner of the screen.'Relax and just have fun!'
This one!' The enemy slowed down and I managed to shoot it.
'Now this one! Get this son of a bitch too! >:)'
a couple of more enemies that tried to approach missed a few shots and froze in place for a split second before resuming, giving me the chance to take them down and finish the level."Look at that!" Ben smiled as he leaned halfway out of the tv looking at the score. "And on the hardest difficulty too!" He chuckled as he fully climbed out.
"Thanks" I couldn't help but smile back at him.
