OVERCOME CHAPTER - 8

The school's atmosphere turned gloomy and oppressive as the Red God gang took hold. Students faced daily bullying and intimidation, and an aura of fear and uncertainty hung over the school. As Zeke, Jax, and Mikey witnessed the Red God gang members bullying fellow students during their break, Zeke couldn't contain his frustration. He turned to Jax, proposing that they should take action to stop this ongoing madness.

Jax's response, however, was unexpected. He distanced himself, claiming it wasn't his responsibility and that he didn't want to get involved in the mess. This reply left Zeke and Mikey in a state of shock. This reply left Zeke and Mikey deeply puzzled. It was clear that something was troubling Jax, and they were resolute in their determination to discover what it was.

After the break, as they returned to the classroom, Zeke and Mikey couldn't help but notice Jax's unusual behavior. His face bore a troubled expression, and throughout the class, he seemed lost in his thoughts, This strange demeanor didn't go unnoticed by Zeke and Mikey.

 As Zeke, Mikey, and Jax left school, Erlik waited for them near the main gate and joined their group. While walking, Erlik suddenly brought up a concerning topic, the upcoming war that the Red God gang seemed prepared to start. Turning to Jax for his opinion, Erlik asked, "What do you think about it, Jax?" To their bewilderment, Jax responded apathetically, stating that it wasn't my concern.

The cryptic conversation left Zeke and Mikey completely confused. Suddenly, without much explanation, Jax said his goodbyes, claiming he had some work to attend to. As he walked away, a sense of sadness was evident on his face, leaving Zeke and Mikey feeling puzzled.

Zeke, still puzzled, turned to Erlik and asked, "Can you explain what you meant earlier? I'm confused." Erlik patiently explained, "In our school, it's not just the Red God gang; there are other powerful gangs too. All of them are gearing up for a big fight. The gang that wins will take control of the school."

Mikey chimed in, "So why is everyone so scared of the Red God gang? Why don't the other gangs fight back?", Erlik explained, "It's because last year, a guy transferred to our school, and within just five days, he took control of the entire school." Zeke was curious and asked, "Who is that guy?" Erlik replied, "His nickname is RED GOD."

Zeke inquired, "Then how can we stop him?" Erlik replied with a grave tone, "We can't stop him; he's a very dangerous guy." Mikey was puzzled, "So, what were you telling Jax?" Erlik's expression turned somber, "A year ago, Jax and his friend confronted the Red God. They almost defeated all the school's gangs that day, but in the end, they both lost to the Red God." Zeke pressed for more, "What happened to Jax's friend?" Erlik responded, "I don't know much about him."

After some days, Mikey and Jax were absent from school. Mikey was on a family trip, and Jax had gone to his father's native place. Zeke continued to come to school daily with Erlik, and they made their way to their respective classes. During the break time, two members from another class approached Zeke's classroom and began to flirt with Honey, irritating her.

Zeke, observing this, couldn't stand the harassment and decided to intervene. He walked right up to the two troublemakers and asked, "What's your problem?" The situation escalated, with one of the guys attempting to strike Zeke's face. However, Zeke skillfully evaded the attack and countered by striking the guy in the stomach, causing him to fall to the ground. The other guy tried to escape, but Zeke swiftly leaped into the air and delivered a high kick, leaving the entire class in a state of shock.

As Zeke and Honey walked along the road, they found themselves surrounded by a group of ten individuals, some of whom Zeke had confronted earlier. These individuals ganged up on Zeke and Honey, and a brawl ensued. Zeke managed to take down two of the members, but then the rest overwhelmed him.

They began to harass Honey, and in the midst of it all, Zeke regained his composure and shouted, "Leave her!" One of the gang members approached Zeke and cruelly demanded that he lick his shoes. Honey, terrified and in tears, watched the humiliating scene as Zeke, driven by desperation, complied with the demand. The gang recorded the incident on video and eventually left them alone.

With heavy hearts, Zeke and Honey returned home, burdened by the humiliation they had endured. The video of the incident began to circulate throughout the school, amplifying their distress.

Late at night, Erlik received a message in their group chat, which included Jax, Mikey, Honey, and Zeke. Jax expressed his shock, typing, "What the heck is this video? What on earth is happening at school?" Erlik, equally puzzled and concerned, replied, "I don't know. I've tried calling Zeke over 50 times, but he's not responding." The night ended on a somber note, with everyone in the group feeling helpless and worried about Zeke's well-being.

The following day, just like every other, Jax, Mikey, and Erlik arrived at Zeke's house, ready to head to school together. However, upon seeing Zeke's sorrowful state, Mikey couldn't help but feel pained. Mikey gently prodded Zeke, asking, "Who did this?" But Zeke remained silent.

As they entered the school, the whispers and hushed laughter in their surroundings were palpable. The trio, Zeke, Mikey, and Jax, made their way to the classroom, only to find Honey's seat empty. She was absent, and the classroom was abuzz with students staring, murmuring, and gossiping about Zeke.

During the break, Erlik visited Zeke, Mikey, and Jax's classroom. They gathered around and asked Zeke about what happened the day before. Zeke was visibly depressed. Suddenly, the group of ten members arrived, making a ruckus and laughing. One of the guys approached Zeke, casually putting his foot on the table. Mikey, Jax, and Erlik were fuming but trying to control their anger. The guy inquired, "Where's that hot girl?"

Erlik urgently whispered to Jax, "Please, don't get involved. They're Red God members. It will only make things worse." But suddenly, Mikey couldn't take it anymore. Ignoring Erlik's pleas, he stood up, and Jax watched in shock. Erlik shouted, "NO, NO!" as Mikey brutally snapped the guy's leg right in front of the entire class. The classroom was filled with horrified gasps and fearful silence.

As the remaining nine members launched an attack, Jax, Erlik, and Mikey stood their ground alongside Mikey. During the classroom chaos, the news spread like wildfire to other classes. Soon, a crowd of students from different grades flocked to witness the commotion, some capturing the brawl on their phones. Within moments, the nine attackers lay defeated on the classroom floor. The sight left Zeke in shock, and word of the incident quickly spread to other high-ranking members in the school, who began marching towards Class 1A.
