The next few days fly by, each day relatively the same, breakfast, training, luncheon, free time, and dinner. This schedule repeated day after day. During the past few days I've also grown close to Zara, she is a lot friendlier than the other noble girls staying at the palace. Currently I am sitting in one of the parlors in the palace. The parlor had a theme of an elegant white and gold combo. I loved this parlor because the big windows overlook one of the gardens.

I sat on one of the plush couches right across from me, sitting on the opposite couch, was Zara, she was currently drawing up dresses for me. Every so often she would show me a dress sketch and ask for my feedback.

"This would look lovely on you, I'm thinking maybe a pale blue." Zara spoke up, flipping her sketchbook to show me.

"I love the flowers on it, maybe short sleeves instead of long?" I reply with a smile on my lips.

Zara nods and turns the sketchbook back towards herself. I glance back down to the book I was reading. It was one of my favorite books, and one of the few possessions I brought back with me from the boarding school. It was a romance book, in the eyes of many this book was deemed to be too "scandalous" for a lady like myself. I can still remember my teacher's shrill voice lecturing me about reading it.

I let out a dreamily sigh as I reached my favorite part of the book. In this chapter of the book the main characters finally admit they love each other and end up passionately making out. This part always gives me butterflies.

"What's this?" a voice says, as a hand grabs onto my book and yanks it out of my hand.

I let out a squeal of shock and turn around to see who the book thief is.

Holding my book was Maven with a smirk on his face.

"Maven," I whined.

I climbed over the couch, glad mother was not there knowing she would throw a fit about how un-lady like that was. Maven held the book up as high as he could. I made small jumps trying to grab it out of his hand.

I let out a huff of annoyance.

"Maven, give me my book back."

"I don't think so, hmm what page were you on, page 196 correct?"

I don't respond as my face turns silver.

Maven glimpses over the page, his smirk getting bigger.

"Why little miss Sapling, I had no clue you were into-"

Before Maven could finish the sentence I used all my strength to tackle him to the ground. As he lays on the ground, me on top of him, I snatch my book out of his hands and lightly smack his face with the book. Maven lets out a groan of pain as I gracefully get up and sit back down on the couch. I turn back to him, glaring at him.

I hear footsteps behind me then feel the couch sink in next to me.

"What are you even doing here?" I hissed out at him annoyed from the stunt he just pulled.

"Am I not allowed to check in on my childhood friend?" Maven questioned with fake innocence.

"You see me practically every day now, Mavey." I state.

"True, but we hardly get to talk."

I roll my eyes at him.

"Don't you have training in like five minutes?" I ask him.

"Urg, don't remind me." He groaned, rubbing his hand on his face.

"See you around Willow."

As he said his good bye he discreetly put a piece of paper in my hand.
