"Maven-" I gasped out in shock, my heart pounding in my chest.

Panic floods my body, if anyone were to see us, it could be disastrous. Kissing Maven is treason against Norta and the Crown.

"Willow, I-" Maven begins, however I interrupt him

"I need to leave, now"

And with those words I swiftly get up, pulling my shaw close to my body and make a dash to the palace, ignoring Maven's desperate pleas for me to come back.

...

For the next week I avoid Maven the best I can, during dinner I will occasionally glance at Maven, however whenever I do he tends to feel my gaze and in return gives me his sad pleading eyes. Though he does not speak his emotions and what he wants to say to me is expressed in his eyes. I want to talk to you.

...

I dreadfully make my way towards the training room, I have done my best to avoid training with the other younger silver nobbels. However yesterday Cal was very persistent with me joining him today.

When I arrive at the room, Silver nobles are all spread out stretching with their friends. I scan the room looking for Cal, when I notice him, he is doing some intense stretching, not wanting to bother him I head over to the edge where Mareena is doing some light stretching.

"Good morning Mareena, mind if I join you?" I ask with a small smile.

"Not at all." She replies.

I sit down and start doing some toe stretches.

"Not to be rude, but why have you not been at training?" Mareena questions.

I was slightly tense at her question. The true reason is I train in private because I fear I will lose control of my powers in front of everyone. Queen Elara gave me permission to train by myself, asking no questions to why I would wish to, which I am thankful for. My eyebrows scrunch together as I carefully think of a response.

"Well, I prefer to train alone, it helps me clear my mind." I say slowly.

Mareena nods her head in acknowledgement, not asking anymore questions.

I zone out as I continue to stretch, not noticing when a certain prince comes over.

"Mare, Willow." A calm smooth voice says from behind me. My eyes widen slightly, letting out a small sigh, knowing I can't just ignore Maven forever, I turn my head and look up at Maven.

"Maven." I murmur in acknowledgement.

"What's going on?" Mareena asks, I turn my head back to look at Mareena.

"You will see in a minute." Maven replies bluntly.

The doors to the training room swing open and Arven, the training instructor walks in. As he does, all the young nobles in the room head over to gather around him.

"Come on." I mumble to Mareena as I get up.

"Tirana" Avren mumbles, and a girl with short hair steps up.

Avren's eyes scan the crowd of young nobles deciding who to choose next.

"Prince Maven, If you please."

Maven steps up and stands next to Tirana, suddenly a clear wall surrounds them forming an arena.

"They won't hurt each other, Avren stops us before anyone can do any real damage, and there are healers on hand." Cal says standing next to me and Mareena
