I knew it was a bad idea when y/n asked to stay here for lunch. I play too much with my magic around here for it to be safe for her.
Well, not safe in a way that something would happen to her, I wouldn't let that happen.
But in a way that endangers the magic I hide from her. People freak out about magic and one of the first things they ask is, if I used magic on them. I don't want to lie to y/n but I also can't tell her the truth.

My heart nearly fell to the bottom of my feet when a client walked in.
Our meeting was rescheduled but it looks like he forgot.
At first, I was scared y/n would freak out but I simply let the man speak before sending him away.
Yes, he spilled some of the things I do around here that y/n doesn't need to know but with a quick bit of magic, her memory was cleared off that moment.

She looked confused but didn't ask any further questions. My hopes are high that she didn't notice anything and it was just a feeling that made her look at me like that. I'm not ready to share this with her. Maybe one day I will, or I won't, depends on how this goes.

Here's the thing about desperation: it keeps people close and makes them stay close to you. They want something from you and won't let go until they get it. But if you keep it from them for too long, they lose interest.
It can be difficult to find the right balance but with y/n it seems to be so easy. All it takes is a small touch, a look or a whisper and I got her where I want her. Playing with her like that is something I've grown to love and I can't wait to take this even further.

Her words fill my chest with a deep desire to continue this, to watch her shiver and shake underneath my touch. I want her to fall apart for me because I made her feel so fucking good. I'm going to ruin everybody else for her.

She's gonna want me, one way or another.
But I have to be smart about it and stay inside my lines.

I squeeze her thigh and smirk at the gasp that leaves her mouth at that. Such a sweet sound that I want to hear more of. But I can't quite concentrate on her just yet.
My eyes dart to the door again. I can't risk having someone else walk in here again. For once because I want to enjoy my time with her and also because no one else gets to see those pleading, desperate eyes and the look on her face. It's reserved for me and only me.

I get up and walk to the door. My back is to her but I hear a small whine, making me smirk even more.

"That's mean." She protests. I just hum in response.

She's been testing out the waters since she arrived and I'm getting the feeling, she might think she has the upper hand in this. But she doesn't. I'm still in full control of the situation and I will regain every bit that she thought I lost.
I turn around with the sound of the lock clicking, making sure everyone stays outside. Her eyes grow bigger and she wets her lips almost nervously.

"Are you gonna...do something to me?" She asks.

Her voice is a little wavery with nerves and arousal. I would guess she hopes for a yes, at least by the way she looks at me and clenches her legs together. I lean against the door and shrug.

"Would you want me to do something?" I ask, looking her straight in the eyes.

For a few seconds she holds the eye contact while blushing madly. Then she looks down onto her fumbling hands. This is what I'm talking about, her shy and nervous self, it's adorable, really.

"Maybe?"

It sounds like a question when we both know it's not. I really want to make her look at me with my magic, make sure she looks me in the eyes when telling me what she wants.
But we are too far apart for that and I won't risk giving into her silent wishes without her speaking them out loud first. Instead of stilling the tingling in my fingertips, I click my tongue and raise my eyebrows.
