As soon as we walked into my apartment, I was met with the most beautiful view. The flat had big windows that brought in lots of natural light and made it possible to see a lot of the city. Even though the windows were big, the apartment was still cosy. I could surely work with this and make it into my home.
That happy feeling was short-lived as Leah turned to me with a look on her face. The look said everything. It said that she was worried about me after what had happened at practice. It also said that she was thinking about what had happened the other night. We were teammates first and foremost. We needed to talk about the night we spent together.
"Sit down here, I'll go get the rest of the paint cans. I'm sorry I don't have any furniture yet. You probably don't want to sir down. I should've told you before. I'm so sorry, Le. I want to get it in here after it is painted, just so I don't ruin anything." I blurted out, not stopping for air. "No problem, really. But first, we kind of need to talk." She said, and I did agree with her. I just knew what she would say and how much she regretted what had happened.
I sat down on the floor and covered my face. I wasn't crying, well I wasn't crying yet. "I'm sorry Leah, we can do whatever you want about it." I told her with a trembling voice. "Well, can we just talk about it first. Before you make any stupid decisions and decide to never talk to me again." Leah said with a small laugh. I couldn't bring myself to laugh. "I really enjoy spending time with you, but maybe that sex was unnecessary. Not that I didn't like it, you were great. It was all just a bit rushed, I like to know the person a bit better before sleeping with them." Leah admitted and it was like a weight was lifted from my shoulders. "I liked it too, but it was very rushed." I admitted. "Maybe we can see each other more, like I can maybe take you out for dinner some night?" Leah asked me, her cheeks turning redder with each word. "I would like that." I responded with a smile.
After that, it got quiet, not a bad quiet, but a comfortable quiet. I explained to Leah what she needed to paint and how. We got started and worked with music in the background until it was time for dinner. "Should I order something to eat?" I asked as I walked into the living room from the bedroom I was painting. For some reason it had both a walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom. "Yeah, do you have anything in the kitchen that we could eat or is going out the only option?" Leah asked. "Open the fridge, and you'll see how little I have in there. You can decide where we should order from while you do that." I said smiling. While I said that Leah opened the fridge and looked at me with a very disappointing smile. "I haven't lived here, that means I have nothing in the fridge." I confessed. "That means we are the only snacks here in the kitchen." Leah joked and made us both laugh.
She made us order salads, but she made them remove almost everything from hers. Mine had all the ingredients that you would want, dressing, vegetables and cheese. Leah had chicken and potatoes in hers. "You eat like a five-year old." I commented with a laugh. "Well, your food is disgusting. Who would want that much strange stuff in their food?" She asked me, sounding very offended. "That strange stuff is what gives the food taste." I answered her. Smiling big.
Before dinner we were almost done with painting the living room and the main bedroom. We only had the dining room and the other bedrooms left. I needed to have the dining room done before I could move in. The rest could be done while I lived here.
I had decided on a light green for the bedroom and a light yellow for the living room. The dining room would be painted a light blue. Colours always made me happy, and that was the vibe I wanted in my home. All three rooms needed decorations before I could consider it a home. I had so much stuff from Barcelona that I wanted in my apartment. Most of it was packed down in boxes. Boxes that needed unpacking in the close future.
For the rest of the night, all we did was painted until all the livingspaces were painted. It took a lot of time, but at the end of the night, we saw our work and were so proud of ourselves. Of course it was only a first coat. I needed at least one more in every single room. That was a job for tomorrow. Now everything just needs to dry.
I could probably get help from Beth and Viv tomorrow. They would be happy to help.
Maybe I should wait with Leah. We had rushed into everything with sex and now a lot of things felt awkward. I always wanted to get to know the person before sleeping with them. I wasn't one for having one night stands and then never talking to the person again.
Also thank you all for 20k reads. That is way more than I have on my other FINSIHED stories. That is so sick. Remember to press the little star if you enjoy the story.
