There was a constant beeping sound, cutting through the muffled static noise surrounding it. His body felt heavy, so heavy he couldn't lift any of his limbs. His eyes were glued together-- they had to be-- they wouldn't open. There was a new type of noise all of the sudden, some shuffling, of clothes perhaps. It was right next next his ear and he wanted to flinch away. With great effort he tore his eyes open, which was a mistake because of the blinding light that followed. Even while lost in his pain he couldn't not hear the gasp of the woman next to him. It seemd like there were more people around, because several shocked intakes of breath occurred one after the other.

"Do not swarm him!" an elderly voice said, he still held his eyes closed, his eyelids were twitching.

Memories flooded his head and he realized that waking up was the worst that could've happened. He got the urge to just stab himself with the nearest syringe or something. Dreading what was to come, he untangled his eyelashes. His gaze met Aizawa's. The man looked unbelievably gentle, really nobody would belive him if he were to tell someone. He felt drained of his energy, ironically it meant he felt the same as before.

"Hi." he rasped.

Midnight couldn't help the wet snort that came. She turned away for privacy and wiped her eyes.

"Hi problem child."

"Hello Midoriya dear." said the elderly woman. Recovery Girl moved to mess with his IV flow.

He tried to get up but Present Mic immediately came forth and pushed his shoulders down gently.

"You should rest little listener."

"How long have I been out?" he asked right off the bat.

"Nine days."

"School started?"

"Yes, but don't worry Nezu was planning to pull you out anyways." Ectoplasm said.

Midnight slapped his back. "That sounds so bad! What he means is that Nezu has been planning to take you on as his personal student, so school right now shouldn't be your worry." she warmly smiled.

They were all kind looking, but he couldn't help but shatter while looking at them and simultaneously playing with the metal cuffs that binded him to the hospital bed.

"What is going to happen now." he knew he was blunt.

They all shared a look with eachother.

"All right, all of you out! My patient needs some rest!" Recovery Girl scolded.

Aizawa patted his hand and stood up from the chair, walking out with the others.

He was left staring at the ceiling.

It was the third day and he was still stuck in the bright white bed. Everyone told him he'd get visited by Nezu soon. The rat  finally manged to get some clearance in his schedule and he enetered the room.

"Ah Midoriya, it's good to see you."

He nodded.

"I'm sure you must have a lot of questions. Well, how about we talk over a cup of tea?" The principal pulled out a tea set out of thin air and smoothly set it down. He poured two cups and handed one to Midoriya, who was sitting up with his back leaning on the soft hospital pillow. He couldn't move his arms enough to bring the tea cup to his mouth. Nezu didn't seem to notice, but it was more plausible that he just didn't care.

"Are you going to ignore or change the subject once we get to my questions?"

"Not at all. To make this more interesting how about we do a quid pro quo?"

Midoriya tilted his head thinking silently. "All right."

"We do have all the time time the world to talk." Nezu smiled, his animalistic features coming through for once. He really never felt comfortable enough to act instinctually around others.

Midoriya looked at the broken clock, he didn't even know what day it was. "Yeah, we do."
