He woke up in cold sweat. The flickering neons burning into his retina. Midoriya subtly looked at the cameras set up around his base. The clock read 5:39 am, his only source of keeping track of time. He groaned getting out of his makeshift bed. It was time to dress up, he would use Mei's suit for the first time.

Fixing his tie and neatly putting on his coat, he slid a couple knives in the designated pockets, leaving his guns untouched for now, and set off.

The darkness of the canal was somehow welcoming, the air was humid, and cool on his face, he was lucky this was a fake city otherwise it would be unpleasant at best. The sound of his shoes stepping on cold tiles resonated within the corridors and mingled with the sound of water running. As he saw the exit he climbed up the ladder and exited into the night.

It was pitch black outside and the streets were quiet despite being able to see a robot or two walk every blue moon. Midoriya casually strolled till he was in front of the hero tower. He passed by, not minding the cameras and entered. No one was out sitting for watch, it seems they thought they would be untouchable in their 'home'. Even better now that he was going to demolish that illusion. The floor plan was designed by being split into two main parts, the boys' rooms and the girls'. There was a reception at the enterance, like any ordinary agency has, but walking past it after disabling the alarms he was met with a common room of sorts. There were big and dramatic stairs in the corners of the room. He chose to go right, into the girls' wing. He held his breath as he erased his presence and entered the third door he saw. Sleeping on their separate beds were Shiozaki and Kodai. Kodai's quirk was crucial to transport, but Shiozaki's was flexible. The smart choice would be to consider the pros and cons and choose to eliminate the stronger opponent, the one who's absence would hit the heroes harder and Midoriya was smart, but instead he chose to flip a coin. Heads for Shiozaki and tails for Kodai. He threw the coin and it silently landed on the back of his hand. Heads it is. He grabbed his knife from his harness and put a hand over the girl's mouth. She immediately woke up staring into Midoriyas eyes with unadulterated fear. Knowing her beliefs he placed his special knife on her throat and whispered: "May your god save you cause I won't", his toxic eyes glistened and he sliced her skin. Immediately a red line appeared and being close to her, he could hear Vlad King say "Shiozaki you have been eliminated.". She didn't play dead the way she was supposed to, in fact she seemed frozen. He brought a finger to his lips and lightly smiled leaving behind a terrified hero.

Walking downstairs he stopped to look at the blank walls. A last minute idea struck him. What if he left a message? He looked around for paint or something of the sorts, not managing to find any. He borrowed a knife from the kitchen and rolled over his shirt. Holding it at ninety degrees he punctured his wrist and then inclined it at forty-five degrees, slicing through his forearm and exiting again at ninety. Blood began to furiously flow out so he collected it in a plastic cup and started painting a message. By the end, his bleeding arm was forgotten and the cup was almost filled to the brim. The message read "You're only alive because I haven't killed you yet." it was a direct threat to let them known they weren't safe, they didn't have the upper hand even with their strength in numbers. It was all a game after all, why should he not have some fun?

Taking out a little device he wiped out his dna so they couldn't track him and shattered the door behind him. (author here, don't ask me how, I just realized that he couldn't paint with his blood bc of DNA and said fuck that and introduced this)

When the heroes woke up they were not expecting to hear a scream. The boys ran downstairs to make a loop and get to the girls' wing, but they stopped in their tracks when they saw the message on the wall. They heared a scream once again, but they couldn't tear their eyes away. The glass door could be seen by peeking over the corner, glass seemed to have been scattered everywhere. The girls came running downthe stairs. In the panic they didn't notice the bloody message.
