Chapter Four: Recovery

Narrators POV

Silver picked up Shadow holding him away from everyone who tried to touch him, "get away!" Silver hissed, Rouge hurried in front of Silver making sure no one saw his fangs when he hissed, "we need to call an doctor!" Sonic said wanting to get close but he was still holding Cream so she didn't see the blood, "no!" Rouge glared pushing Silver to make them run out, "they won't make it anytime soon! We are taking my carriage!" Rouge said grabbing Silvers free hand making him run with her, Sonic was about to go after them but he felt Cream trembling in his arms.

"Sonic..." Amy stood there looking at Shadow's blood on the floor, she looked back to her hammer completely shocked that this is how it played out. "Amy it's okay-" Tikal said reaching out to comfort her but Amy smacked her hand away, "no! I ruined this event! I just.. I don't trust him, he's.. He's not human! I know it! Knuckles, get Blaze and Tails! You guys are going to go after them and make sure he gets to an actual doctor if he doesn't.. You know what to do," Amy said looking to Knuckles who didn't like getting ordered by her but he saw Sonic nod making him listen.

Knuckles sighed and grabbed Tails arm yanking him to follow so they could find Blaze. Meanwhile Silver and Rouge were dashing into the forest, "we need to get far away I know they are going to be suspicious about Shadow," Rouge said pointing at his wound that was healing very slowly, "why isn't it healing faster?!" Silver said beginning to cry in panic, "hunters weapons have a worse impact on us, if we get hit by it the harder it is for us to heal unless we drink allot of blood, we need to take him to the shack so he can drink up but keep him there."

"How long does it take for a human to heal such a wound?" Silver asked concerned, "uh.. I don't know." Rouge shrugged not entirely sure either, "we'll keep him away for a month!" Rouge said slamming the shack door open, "a month!? Does that mean we can't come visit him?" Silver said laying Shadow down on the bed, "yup! This is the best recovery shack around for vamps but sadly if Sonic's group was to notice us coming in the forest they'd start following us to find out what it was we were doing in here.." Rouge said grabbing a blood bag before slide the straw into Shadows mouth so he could drink, Shadow coughed and gagged for a moment before finally drinking it, "there we go, he should heal little by little, though this big gash in his head is gonna be here for a week, so no bothering him." Rouge said walking to the bathroom while letting Silver hold the blood bag for Shadow so he could drink.

"I don't want to leave him..." Silver muttered staring at Shadow worried, "don't worry about him, he's handled worse and you know it, let him recover and he'll be fine." Rouge said starting the shower, "we need to clean him up, I think that's all the blood he should drink for now," Rouge said walking over taking the blood bag from Silver, Silver hesitated before picking up Shadow taking him to the bathroom, "get him cleaned up, I'll go to the hospital and register him so if they decide to try they know he doesn't want to see anyone." Rouge grabbed her things leaving Silver.

Rouge finished setting up registering Shadow at the hospital, "finally.." Rouge said walking down the steps but stopped in her tracks feeling eyes on her, she looked down seeing Knuckles and Tails walking out of their carriage heading up but stopped, "Rouge, is.. Shadow okay?" They asked walking up to her, she hesitated for a moment trying to figure out how to act, should she be sad? Mad? Yeah mad.. Rouge glared at them both, "oh so now you care?" Rouge rolled her eyes walking past them, "look it's hard to be on someone's side you don't know, Cream is important to us so seeing her act that way can cause anyone-"

"Anyone to let a chick with a large hammer attack an innocent man? What's with you guys acting as if it was normal for her to pull out some weird hammer and attack!" Rouge snapped at them, she knew she had to act she didn't know hunters exist, since hunters stay on a low profile of what they do. Some humans know of the existence of Vampires but only if they were attacked or had a love one attacked, vampires have also stayed quiet but recently vampires have come out of hiding.
