When it comes to love, I never paid any mind to it, I just ignored the feeling to it since Maria passed away. I never wanted to have these emotions for anyone for it taints the promise I made to her. "Shadow?" I looked at Sonic who was running out of the field to me, "what is it?" I said handing him water, "I noticed you seemed out of it recently, you okay?" He said taking the water from me before kissing the side of my head, "yeah I uh-.. Just thinking is all." I said with a fake smile, Sonic sighed and quickly went back to the field to continue his training.

I figured it out thanks to Cream telling me about the school in the end that Sonic is truly a hunter, this school was made to train upcoming hunters to kill vampires, even the classes were about details of vampires, their reactions to blood or how to identify one.

I didn't want to believe it, I really can't and the fact that his name is exactly of the great hunter Sonic kills me inside yet...

I watched Sonic struggle so much, he's clumsy and doesn't hit the practice dummy right to kill a vampire so there's no way he's the so called great hunter. Maybe his weird parents looked up that hunter and named Sonic after him?

I sighed lowering my head in shame, I can't believe so far two people I've ever fallen for have been hunters- I mean.. I didn't fall for Sonic! I smacked both my cheeks trying to stay focused, lately I've been so caught up on him I keep forgetting the main goal. It's been three months since I accepted to stay.

Rouge and Knuckles have been inseparable and keep asking when do me and Sonic plan to be more lovey dovey like them, but I can't ever think of doing such a thing. I could feel my cheeks become warm from the thought of Sonic being more with me...

"Hey Shadow!" I looked up seeing Amy in her training outfit, "hey." I patted the grass next to me allowing her to sit, "Sonic's been staring at you throughout practice, did something happen?" Amy asked pointing over to Sonic who was getting scolded for not staying focused. "It's just.. I've been thinking of how me and Sonic are." I said rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly, "I've never thought I'd get a lover you know? And to find out he's a hunter is just-" Amy giggled, "he's been wondering the same thing you know, you guys kiss and hug but I've never seen you talk romantically to each other or show you're dating only by the kisses and that's it." Amy said grabbing her water bottle out of her bag.

"I've never been in a relationship before-" I looked away feeling her gaze on me, I just knew the expression she had by the sound of her gasp, "no way! No wonders you're so uptight!" I growled at her seeing she was teasing me for not having any experience. I just never thought of actually getting more serious with Sonic at all since I want to remember it's for his blood, if I keep getting things confused I will forget what this was all for.

Night after night I've been able to get some of his blood while he slept but it's getting harder to get it with how much he's been clingy with me. "Are you gonna join us tonight? We have a mission to hunt down a vampire in a neighboring town," Amy asked handing me a paper with all the information, "wait I wasn't told you guys were leaving." I said looking at the paper seeing they were facing two vampires, "he hasn't told you yet? Sonic told us last week about it to let us prepare." I looked over at Sonic who was still training, I didn't know how to feel about him suddenly keeping this from me.

"Maybe he'll let you know before we leave tomorrow," Amy said trying to reassure me but it only made me feel worse that I can't prepare for a hunt in a day without looking suspicious. "I got to go back to training! Try not to overthink it!" Amy said running back leaving me alone with my thoughts.

___

I kept staring at Sonic hoping he'd ask what's wrong, I sat down on the sofa glaring at him seeing him moving bags to the front door, "okay. I'm assuming Amy talked to you already-"
