My Vampire {REWRITTEN}

Chapter Nine: True Intentions

I sat far from Sonic seeing him glaring at me from across the table, "just spit it out." I said turning away only making Sonic more upset, "Shadow I just... I just want you to be safe, I don't like the fact you're here at all when I told you how dangerous this can be." Sonic said trying to reach out to my hand but I pulled it away, I didn't care what he had to say it's the fact he thinks I'm weak especially when I'm a vampire I could rip him apart this very second.

"Shadow, understand I need you to go back home okay? Just stay there and I'll be back any second okay?" Sonic said rushing over to sit next to me instead, I rolled my eyes knowing very well it'll take them days to find whatever vampire they are looking for. "No way. Just drop it Sonic, I'm not going anywhere I want to help and even when you think I can't handle myself I can. That's why I'm going to stay even when you don't want it." I said standing up grabbing my coat, Sonic hurried to my side grabbing my hand. "Shadow.. I love you." I froze.

His soft words felt like a curse was being placed onto my heart, I don't need this right now. "I'll see you around." I said walking out. 

From then I haven't talked to Sonic and decided to linger around not trying to find the vampire in the end. Just seeing Sonic's miserable face made me feel this weird feeling I can't put my finger on. I wanted to see it more... I need to understand why I feel this when he looks so sad. 

They've been on this case for three days and Rouge isn't getting told anything either. Knuckles seems to be in the dark as well, "I don't know what to do." Rouge said hugging Knuckles, he sighed looking at me concerned. 

"Is he going to be alright...? I don't know how to feel about Silver killing someone but-" Knuckles was awkward about this, even I was. I don't know why Rouge decided to fill him in now but it's going to be hard to trust him even more since basically those were his fellow brother hunters. "He's fine," I said sitting down on a crate, "have you guys really not found anything that leads to another vampire?" They both went quiet hearing my question.

"Dammit. But that scene was recent, it just happened when I arrived so- how did you guys get informed?" I asked looking at Knuckles hoping for more information how the school works.

Knuckles hesitated for a moment before sighing and finally explained, "we don't just go randomly hunting vampires there has to be a report and when too many reports of vampire related actions or stuff we are called to go check. When we arrive and see that the reports were correct it is indeed a vampire we start our hunt. But the only vampire related thing we found was those hunters Silver killed and that's it, the fact it's suddenly quiet and nothing is going on is rather suspicious." Knuckles grabbed Rouges hand holding it tightly.

"If we can't find anything more, we'll have to stay here until we do find any vampire and assume it was them. Though about those extra hunters I didn't even know they were coming it's a special force that the one who accepted the request can make to have hunters being the eyes for the outside, so... Sonic is the only who can make that call since we are extra hunters he asked to join him on this mission." I frowned hearing that, why would he? I was willing to help but-

"We gotta return, I hope you figure things out as well about Silver." Knuckles said before leaving out with Rouge to return to Sonic, I sighed rubbing my forehead.

How am I supposed to handle this? If they can't find a vampire Silver will be stuck here until he's found and killed- but if that's the case they'll run into Mephiles and since his hibernation was interrupted he might just slaughter the whole town if anything happens. 

I jumped off the crate before walking around the town figuring out what vampire caused some to report, even at allot of bars and clubs there wasn't any sign of a fellow vampire. "Dammit." I punched the wall standing outside of one of the many bars. "Shadow?" I turned around seeing Sonic, I sighed not wanting to see him of all people right now. "What?" I said turning to him before I could react he ran into my arms clashing his lips onto mine.
