Although I'd never celebrated one before, I had always loved Valentine's Day. In my life pre-Draco, I would dream of the day I would get to spend this particular day with my boyfriend.

I would often fantasise about it being with Draco, but never in my wildest daydreams did I actually believe that was going to be my reality. But it was – and it exceeded my dreams a million times over.

The Great Hall was covered in pink, red, and everything that screamed romance and love. There were garlands of flowers all along the walls, and all over the four house tables. There were pink fairies flittering across the ceiling, and the bewitched ceiling had a purple and pink hue to the sky, like it was the prettiest sunrise.

It was hard for people to be in a bad mood today, even those who were single. There was just an atmosphere in the air that made you love more and be more positive.

All of my friends being loved up probably helped quite a lot. Lisa and Susan were more open about their relationship now, and whilst they weren't shouting about it, they weren't afraid to hold hands in the castle or share a discreet kiss.

As we were waiting for breakfast to be conjured, I was talking to Hannah, when suddenly, I felt someone's hands on my shoulders. I looked up and although I knew who it was already, I was still pleasantly surprised.

"Happy Valentine's Day, baby," Draco whispered in my ear, and kissed my cheek,

"Happy Valentine's Day, love," I craned my head and kissed him properly on the mouth.

Along with all the usual assortment of breakfast food, there was a small, one-person sized cake on the table. It was in the shape of a heart, covered in baby pink buttercream, and a shell-piped white buttercream border. In the centre of the cake, there was a message with red food gel which said, "for my love."

"Oi, none of you lot can fucking touch that!" Draco warned.

Justin passed me the very cute looking cake and pulled his lips into a small line.

"I knew how much you love your sugary shit in the morning, so I asked the house elves to do you that for breakfast today," Draco snickered, kissing my jawline,

"Thank you, Draco, that was lovely of you and so thoughtful," I blushed, smiling shyly, as everyone was watching us,

"That's not all, darling," Draco said, a slight smugness in his tone.

He placed a small black box in front of me and a letter in an envelope.

"Open that letter later when you're by yourself, but you can open your present now," Draco rubbed my arms tenderly,

"You didn't need to get me anything, Draco. I would have been happy with just the cake, you know," I looked up at him, and the love in his eyes was enough to melt me on the spot,

"Oh, shut up and just open it," Draco tutted playfully.

I carefully and slowly lifted the lid of the black, velvety box. I gasped a little when I saw what it was, because I was absolutely blown away by the thought he'd put into it. It was a small coin with 26/04/96 etched into it, with a couple of little diamonds on it, and there was a link on it, so I assumed it was to be attached to my necklace or bracelet.

On the inside of the box was a small note, and it read:

The day my life changed. The day I realised I was one day going to fall in love. The day you undone me for life. I love you with all I have, Madeline. Always yours, Draco.
