A thought, a story. *Trigger warning*

Pov:
I sit down, beside the lake, silent.
Slowly, put my hand into the water, playing with it.

Looking up at the moon, sighing and close my eyes for a bit.

I leave it, and walk through the forest looking ahead, not behind, further inside.

I take a deep breath, taking in the air around the forest. I look up at the moon once again.

the lake, the forest, kept me awake, as I walked further into the forest.

'I feel free? It hurt, but I could be free.'

I hum a little tune as I go about my business. I find a rope like vine on the grassy ground.

Was this it? Freedom? Your mind was filled with so many thoughts. Your heart was broken, and your future was gone, but now you felt...free? Was being free better than what you had with him? That was just love. Was freedom better than the happiness and romance you had? No, it couldn't be. But you didn't know anymore.

"Could this vine lead to freedom?" She thought quietly. She looked at the vine, wondering what to do.

She fashioned the rope into a noose on a tree, deep in the forest.

It felt peaceful.

The memories of him began to wash away. She felt freer, as if she didn't feel pain from the heartbreak anymore. It felt like this was it, she could finally be free of the pain.

"Maybe this is what I need in life."

Her thoughts became hazy as her mind slipped into a peaceful slumber, her mind filled with the images of happier times as her soul slowly slipped away.

The consciousness lingers for a bit, with the flashbacks of loving memories in front of her eyes, like a dream. She does not struggle. Like a peaceful slumber, she sleeps. A soul in the forest, dead.
