the moment we started to grow faint.
With every steady step you had taken,

on the ground, and the words from spilling
and make us bleed even more.
I could only watch the space between us
grew farther and farther 'till I can no
longer reach you, 'till my words can no
longer reach you. How I wished to embrace
those tired shoulders for the last time—
to kiss the river in your eyes.
