I could see all around me a ton of different images from different timelines until it landed on one. It was the mid afternoon, and a teenage girl was running through the forest during the middle of winter. I could almost feel the chills running up my back like daggers against my skin. The girl panted heavily and had a busted-up leg. She wasn't going to make it very far. There was a small knife in her hand, and I was surprised to see the exact same one Alexandria had.
"There's not much this will do against a angry mob," she said. I watched her lean against a tree to catch her breath and looked down at the dagger. "I'm sorry, Dad. I wasn't strong enough to fight them, but I will be."
She shivered and adjusted the red twentieth-century jacket. Something about her was familiar, but I couldn't see her face in all the darkness.
"Find her. She can't be allowed to be seen!" a voice exclaimed. Imagine my surprise to see not a hunter or some supernatural creature sneak up on her, but it was Hyde. He was dressed in different attire, more modern but still him. That confirmed my theory that, if Jekyll was a vampire, then Hyde was too.
"You shouldn't be here," the woman said.
"Stop this now. You don't know what that book will do to you," Hyde responded.
The woman scoffed and took out something from her bag. It was the red book. My heart exploded at sight, and now I knew who this woman was.
"No, I will never stop not until I get what I want Hyde, my sister," the woman answered.
"Marina, stop this..." Hyde began, but she cut him off with a high-pitched hiss.
“It's Moriarty now, and until I get what I want, you will not stop me," she hissed.
My heart exploded again as Marina, or rather Moriarty, opened the red book and pushed Hyde away. A shriek left my throat in concern for Hyde's well being and how Moriarty pulled that off. My first thought was that she was some kind of witch, but when I heard hissing again, I knew that wasn't right.
Moriarty turned around almost like she could sense I was behind her, and her snake-like eyes glowed. No words could describe my horror when I saw her change form briefly into a disfigured creature. Her short blonde hair became long and darker until she had to tie it up. Her modern clothes became a blood-red suit and feather hat instead of a dark purple, matching the cover of the book that was glowing in her hands. A gasp left my throat when she looked at me and she screamed like a wild animal.
"Get away from me. Stop it!" I exclaimed.
"Clara!" I heard someone yell. The image in front of me faded and I was back in the manor.
"That was so real and terrible," I whispered. My vision went in and out as I heard Connor and Alexandria's voices.
"Is she going to be okay? She's been on the floor screaming for hours," Connor said.
"I'm not sure. I was trying to help her because she told me she might be having some kind of visions," Alexandria replied.
"Is that even possible?" Connor asked.
"I don't know. I thought maybe she was some kind of psychic, but now I'm not sure, because the things she was saying were..." Alexandria began, and I could hear the concern and confusion in both of their voices. My vision blurred, and I held my head to numb the pain. I blinked a few times and coughed as I tried to sit up.
