As soon as I brought the confused and dazed Hyde outside, I knew that things were going to get hectic. Jekyll had been a nuisance and a vampire, but he was just a minion. As soon as Moriarty found out what happened, she was going to be furious.
“Clara, what's going on? It's like I got hit by a planet and was trapped in a nightmare!" Hyde exclaimed. Before I could explain what happened and how he was free, the sky outside got dark, and I could sense something evil. I grabbed his hand and gently pulled him outside to see what was going on. The clouds had turned an icky black, and lighting flashed in the sky. My whole body jumped at the sound of the thunder, and I feared that my spell had caused a twister.
"We have a problem," I said.
“Clara, what did you do?" Hyde asked.
My mouth wouldn't move as I couldn't answer him. All I wanted was to free him and help us finish this whole mess. Yet it seemed that these spells had consequences.
The wind blew through my hair as I could see Alexandria and Connor in the distance. They were frantic about where their kids went off to and what was going on. Hyde left my side to go help them while I stood still. My mouth opened in shock as I saw what looked like a wormhole in the sky. “That was impossible” would have been my first thought if my mind had nearly run out of things to get blown about. The only thing that would make this worse was if a green alien came out of that hole in the sky.
"What did I do?" I asked.
“Oh, don't fret, Clara. I'm sure there's another explanation." The familiar voice of Moriarty filled my ears. At first I thought my mind was playing tricks on me then I turned around.
Then I recognized her appearance of long tied-up blonde hair and eyes like a snake, red dress, and a feather hat. Only difference was everything else was falling apart. She had no shoes, her dress was torn, her ponytail was messy in need of shampoo. Even the spiky feather on her hat was soaked with what I hoped wasn't blood. Yet the most disturbing thing wasn't her appearance—it was that she had the twins. They struggled and cried against her grip as none of their small claws or teeth bothered her at all. My heart sped up as my eyes widened at her actions.
"Stop this, Marina. You have taken this whole thing too far!” I exclaimed.
“Aww, poor Clara, did someone steal something valuable that means so much to not just one person?” Moriarty responded.
There was no regret on her face, and I could see that she was trying to bait everyone into attacking her. I tried to tell myself not to give up, but each distressed cry from one of the twins made my blood boil.
“Give me my children!” Connor exclaimed.
His eyes turned a bright gold, and I knew everything was going to get furry. There was nothing more dangerous than an angry parent in the animal or the human world. So it wasn’t farfetched to deduce that it would be ten times worse if both those things were combined. All of the growls didn’t break my thoughts, but the small giggle of my crazy sister did. I expected it to sound like an evil laugh or that crazy cackle from numerous movies. Yet it sounded like an innocent child’s laugh, which made everything a lot worse.
“Oh, I don’t think so this will be the end of your story, and I don’t take orders or any of you monsters. All of you freaks who think they can match my intelligence and push me away like trash,” she said.
At the same time, Alexandria screamed bloody murder at the sight and almost tore Moriarty's hand off. Everything went so fast when Moriarty widened her eyes like she was shocked when the angry Kitsune attacked her. Yet when she got clawed in the face and pounced on, she only got back up, and her eyes went as wide as saucers. There was no terror on her face, and she ended up merely touching Alexandria, causing her to get thrown across the field. It seemed she had been writing in her pages again to keep us from causing any major damage to her.
