Once all of my friends began to prepare for the epic fight, the storm began to lessen as more hands came out from the ground, and I looked back at my sister. She looked quite pleased with herself and finally let out an evil laugh I had expected.
“Looks like it’s time to go,” Moriarty said.
“Don’t you dare leave, Get your ass back here and don’t even—” I began. She cut me off when she jumped into the twister and vanished. “Son of a bitch!” I exclaimed.
I could hear all of my friends protest in my head, Clara, it’s too dangerous, and if you jump in, you could be lost in time. Those were all valid concerns, but so was the fact that a bunch of zombies were trying to rise from the dead and tear my new family apart. Because that was what they had become to me. I was able to absorb a few of Hyde’s vampire abilities when he came over to check on me.
“The twins are safe, and Alexandria is healing quickly, but we need to stop those vampires.” Hyde said. Ah, that made more sense then, zombies. This wasn’t The Walking Dead after all. He breathed heavily, and just as I was about to tell him that he had to fight, he grabbed my hand. “I know we have to fight. I’ll do what I can from here, Just stop that psycho and get the world back on track but take this with you.”
I saw that he had given me a few pieces of Connor’s fur along with Alexandria’s necklace. My eyes widened as I felt myself absorb some werewolf and Kitsune abilities. This would give me an advantage over Moriarty. I just hoped it was enough to stop her before she killed everyone including herself.
“Thank you, now I just need to run into the twister in these heels,” I said.
We shared a loving gaze before I picked the hem of my dress and ran after my sister. The wind picked me up almost in an instant, and I screamed at the debris that got thrown at me. My body was like a feather once I was inside the twister, and every inch of it burned. I had to close my eyes and cover my ears to prevent all the voices in my head claiming I was going to die. Once the wind began to settle, I found myself in a limbo-like place with a ton of long black hallways with different doors. Every door had a unique color or style from ancient Mesopotamia all the way to the present day.
Voices echoed in my ears as I regained my control of my body and walked along the bright road underneath me. Some voices I knew, yet others I didn’t recognize, and I realized this must be some kind of place in between time. I walked up to one of the doors and saw the Middle Ages, where I recognized the three witches.
“Hannah, do you really think it is possible to create a spell that can travel through time? Remember what Andrea said about that?” Linsdey asked.
“I don’t know but I want to try, which is why I’m creating this red book. Hopefully it will find someone who will create the spell if I can’t,” Hannah responded. The book glowed, causing Hannah’s hair to become red until Andrea took the book from her. Hannah shook her head like she came out of a trance.
“Don’t even think about it. That kind of dark magic corrupts your soul. I have told you not to mess with it,” she ordered.
My throat tightened at the sight of her with an empty version of the red book in her hands. Each page she wrote something on became blank, and I walked away in disgust. Of course that book had to be made by a witch. I knew Hannah had something to do with it.
“Of course the magic corrupted whoever picked up the book. It's literally so simple to understand,” I said.
“You are not going to get me!” Moriarty chuckled. Her voice pulled me from my thoughts, and I chased after her. I cursed at the amount of times my dress got in the way or I almost fell because of my heels. Still I pursued her while she went through portal after portal to get away from me. I followed her into the ancient city of Pompeii and saw her steal a boat. I was out of breath and kept being offered white bread and some cheese when people saw me. My heart sped up when I saw the volcano begin to act up, bursting up bits of smoke though no one seemed to notice.
