The time for war has come and as our troops flood across the border into Dwargon, Luminous and Velzard take the lead pushing straight for the capital. Benimaru follows behind, commanding our forces not just to prioritise the one city but ultimately he has to ensure adequate forces are present to support the two ladies.

Surprisingly, he doesn't think to ask for my help in controlling them and as I watch from above with Veldora by my side, no one even glances at us.

Veldora: I've never thanked you properly, have I?

Me: Hmmm?

Veldora: For becoming my brother, I mean.

Me: What are you getting on about now?

Veldora: You could have left me in that cave. Hell, my own sisters certainly did.

Me: Ah, that's nothing.

Veldora: To me, it's everything. Not only did you stick around but you freed me and even got us a place where we can live peacefully.

Me: And read Manga?

Veldora: Haha. That's good too but I mean. Just a few years prior, I'd never have even dreamed about reconciling with my eldest sister, yet here we are.

Me: You call this a reconciliation?

Veldora: I call her no longer pestering me on sight a reconciliation. We have a good thing going now. Meeting you has changed her for the better.

Me: ...

Veldora: I know I joked about you taking her for yourself in the past in exchange for my assistance but...

Me: But?

Veldora: I'd be honoured to walk her down the aisle if you'll have her.

At that, I turn to face him properly, to find him staring at his sister's charging form down below us. Refocusing on her, I'm surprised to find that at this moment there isn't much difference between her and Luminous. Both are merely mothers seeking to take back their children...my children.

Me: I'll think about it.

Veldora: I mean what I said. I am proud to call you my brother.

Me: Yeah, yeah. Now are you going to go help your sisters get back your nieces or are you gonna stand here and-

Before I can finish, he jumps from the magical platform before busting clear through the front gates of the capital city. The defenders attack him but their attacks bounce off the shields around him like men shooting bows at a modern tank.

Behind him, both women storm through the gates killing anything that isn't him while the army gets to work scouring the entire city while simultaneously razing it to the ground.

Benimaru: [Lord Rimuru, the city has been abandoned.]

Oh? So Gazel isn't that stupid after all. However, this does pose a problem...

Me: [Question any survivors.]

Raphael: [I can track both-]

Me: [No. Let's keep this entertaining. Besides, it's not as though my children are in actual danger.]

Raphael: [Death might still prove a traumatic experience for both girls, even if they'll be quickly resurrected.]

Me: [Better to learn from now-]

We're interrupted as Luminous arrives before me, mad as a hatter. The hatred blinds her to all logic and reason. Under normal circumstances, this would warrant serious mental checks but alas...

Luminous: When I find him, I am going to kill him.

Me: Now, let us not be hasty. I'm sure-

Luminous: I am going to skin him alive and take pleasure in feeding his blood to-

Me: That's probably not the best thing to expose our daughter to.

At the mention of her daughter, the blood frenzy in her eyes vanishes and is replaced by tears.

Luminous: I...I can't lose her. I-

Sighing, I pull her into my arms and allow her to cry herself to sleep. As she rests, her head in my lap, I summon Souei.

Souei: I've located the Princess' m'lord.

Me: Good-

Benimaru: [Lord Rimuru!]

Me: [Speak.]

Benimaru: [King Gazel has relocated Dwargon's entire populace to the Kingdom of Raja.]

So that's his plan, huh? Get us to fight the Eastern Empire one way or another? Haha. Well, thus ought to prove interesting.

Me: [Benimaru, have the army regroup and march for Raja.]

Benimaru: [Understood.]

Me: Souei, return to Tempest and instruct the logistics team to reroute a few of our logistic lines for a more direct passage to Raja.

Souei: Yes Lord!

As he disappears from sight, I run my fingers through Luminous' hair, massaging her scalp. She moans in her sleep, likely feeling a great release from all the built-up tension.

Me: Don't worry, I'll get her back for us so rest easy.
