Continuation of "Trying to Escape"
Recap: Trying my luck, I ran down one of the ways and yes! I exclaimed internally to myself, it was the main door. I found it! Just as I was thinking of my next move, I heard a voice from behind me.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Miss Cassandra," a voice said, his tone dark and ominous. "It seems you have caused quite a bit of trouble. Did you really think you could fight your way out?"
How did he know my name? I felt my heart sink as I turned around and saw him standing before me, more guards behind his back. I had nowhere to run now, but I was determined to not go down without a fight. I was going to give it my all, I thought to myself as I launched myself at the man standing in front of me. I wasn't a martial arts expert for nothing. This is where all my years of training were going to pay off. I
kicked and punched and swiped at the guards, knocking them down one by one. I then lunged at the man whose name I now knew was Aaron and soon found out that he was no match for me. I was stronger and way faster. As Aaron staggered backwards, I immediately pounced on him, lunging for his throat. As he fell to the ground, I stood over him, breathing heavily, and raised my leg to kick him again, but Aaron quickly rolled out of the way and scrambled to his feet. I sure underestimated him, just as I was about to deliver the finishing blow- he pounced back at me. This time, he had me under him as I found him to be equally strong. With a final sigh, I gave up. I'd thought I had almost escaped, but now it seemed that my luck finally ran out. With a defeated look on my face, I let my head droop down, I was defeated but at least I tried.
