In Aaron's office
Aaron's pov:
I was seated at my desk, immersed in the details of my research. When a sudden knock interrupted my focus, I looked up to see my cousin, Ryan, standing in the doorway. I was taken aback by Ryan's panting breaths and wide, desperate eyes. Before I could even say a word, Ryan blurted out a single question. "The girl... did you... release her?" The words hung heavy in the air as Ryan's eyes darted between me and the confidential files that were laid out across my desk.
I struggled to contain my rising concern as I observed Ryan's erratic behavior. What could have happened that would cause him to rush to me in such a panic? With a deep breath, I decided to prioritize Ryan's wellbeing. "Sit down, Ryan," I said quietly, gesturing to an empty chair in the office. He obliged and took a seat, still panting slightly. I waited patiently for Ryan to gather himself before continuing, trying to make him feel as comfortable as possible. I struggled to contain my rising concern as I observed Ryan's erratic behavior. "Ryan," I began, "what happened? Why have you come here so abruptly and why are you panting? Whatever it is, you must have had a valid reason to come here with such urgency. Please, continue." Ryan took a moment to steady himself then began to narrate his newfound information concerning Mr Raphael and Cassandra. "I-I just got to know that Mr Raphael is one of the most important clients of that girl you recently kidnapped" he spoke. "Cassandra. Cassandra is her name" I corrected. Ryan's news had certainly surprised me yet I couldn't completely trust him, Ryan's true intentions still harboured my mind.Though I did not have any personal enmity with Ryan, I couldn't trust him entirely because of his father, aka my uncle and my nemesis even though we were on the same team. There still was a possibility that he wasn't saying the truth just to make this more difficult for me than it already was. Even though I had some doubt at the back of my head, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and look into the matter. If, what he was saying was indeed the truth, then I needed Cassandra's help to catch him. Mr Raphael has been on my case since forever. She was going to be my Trump card in the game I was about to play.
