Cassandra's Point of View:
After what felt like only a few seconds, the door in front of me opened. I saw the worker give me a small smile as she moved her hand forward as in a gesture to ask me to come inside. I had only taken a few small steps when I felt someone stop in front of me, I looked up to see a man well built who looked like he was in his 20s. My heart almost fluttered as I studied the chiselled face and ripped abs beneath his tailored black suit. God, was he hot in his black shirt with his sleeves rolled up and a pair of grey pants. *No, no! You can't like the person who kidnapped you* I thought to myself.Just as I thought he was that same man, he spoke- "Hello, I assume you're Cassandra Levine. I'm Ryan Kavinsky, Aaron Kavinsky's cousin. He has called you into his office. I'll lead the way, follow me."
He didn't even give me enough time to answer as he started walking forward. Rude, much?Eventually I was ushered inside and was pointed to a seat where I placed myself and looked at the man dressed in a black suit on the other end of the black glass table. I couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked. Perhaps even more than the man I just encountered, Ryan. Everything about him was sharp and precise, from his slicked-back hair to his tailored black suit that hugged his muscular physique to perfection. I could feel his charisma coursing through my veins but I didn't let that get to my head much. By this time, Ryan had already left and it was just the two of us. He spoke first in his deep raspy voice that sent shivers down my spine as I recalled the last time I heard that voice, the time when I was tied up with ropes that pierced through my skin and made me want to yelp in pain. I closed my eyes shut for a millisecond to stop those memories from coming, at least for now.
"Cassandra Levine, are you paying any attention at all?"
"Yes, I am." I spoke, trying to regain my usual demeanor and speak as nonchalantly as possible.
"Good. I called you here to discuss some important matters. I want information about one of your clients, Mr Raphael. He has snooped on his nose in my business so he needs to be taken care of. He, however is smart enough to hide his traces making it difficult for my men to know about his whereabouts. You're here to help us reach him, this isn't a request, it's a demand."
I was dumbstruck to know that Mr Raphael was his wanted man and he wanted me to help him out? There's no way I'm going to oblige to him that easily. Not like I liked Raphael any better, he was annoying as hell and I'd be more than happy to get him off my back but why should I help *him*?
I then decided to reply back to him. "And what makes you think I'll give in to your demand?"
Hearing this, he let out a sardonic chuckle and spoke again- "well I can't force you. It's your choice. Either this or I make you watch as I kill your entire family in front of your eyes and make you wish for death but torment you instead for the rest of your life. So, which one do you choose?" Of course I had to choose to help him. I would never risk the lives of my loved ones and if this is what I had to do to protect them, I will. My blood boiled at his threats but I knew deep down that I couldn't do anything about it except to agree with his terms. I, however made a mental note to get back at him and take my revenge as soon as I rise to international power which is almost guaranteed if I keep working hard.
"Fine. I'll help you. Not because I'm afraid of you but because I don't like Raphael either. What do you want me to do now?" I spoke in a stern yet questioning voice trying to regain my usual composure.
"Here's the deal, you gather information about me and provide them to me. In order to do so, you might need to be secretive about it and no one, I mean no one should know about this. Once I get my hands on Raphael, you'll be paid 80 thousand dollars as your payment and your life won't be at risk anymore. We can finally part ways at that." He spoke.
"So wait you basically want me to become some sort of a secret agent? What if I get attacked?"
You know martial arts, don't you? Plus, you'll have my men right behind you to protect you from any upfront danger.
"But-" I began to speak but was cut off by him.
"There are no buts. You can go now" as he said this, he pointed his hand to the door.
Though feeling somewhat humiliated because no one before ever had the authority to order me around, I kept my head high and walked out of the room and then the building.
