My first day back at school in a very long time.

I have been getting a lot of stares from everyone.

"Barbie dem" I turned around at the sound of my classmate calling me.

"Hiii" I ran up to him, jumping straight in his arms.

Shamari Allen.

Shamari and I have been the closest of friends since we both started UWI.

People thought that we were together but we aren't.

"Weh you did deh?" He asked looking down at me.

"I went to visit my grandma" I lied, through gritted teeth.

Why would I tell him that, I was kidnapped by my parents and held hostage, just for them to tell me that my father isn't my father.

"Anything you seh eno madhead" his hands now over my shoulder as we walked on campus.

I took my phone out my pocket checking the time.

1:15pm

We have class at 2:30pm.

I also heard that they changed our lecturer, so I won't have to deal with her anymore.

"Fawud" he called out to me, walking in the direction of Tastees.

"Yah buy mi patty?" I turned to look up at him smiling.

Our eyes connected and I looked away smiling.

"Suh weh your bessie deh?" he asked trying to clear the awkwardness.

I shrugged in response, actually not knowing what to say to him.

We are next in line.

"4 cheese patty and 2 orange juice deh browning" he said to the cashier.

She cashed them and gave him the total which was nothing for him.

He paid and collected his ticket, while we sat down waiting to hear his number.
