"Did you here about Samantha and Jada"

Rumors. Rumors where like wildfires, that spread swiftly, leaving scorched trails of uncertainty in their wake.

Ashtray O'Neil had quite frankly always been a charm for girls around East Highland High School ever since he had hit puberty.

He could easily be compared to a magnet effortlessly drawing people into his orbit like a charismatic constellation.

Ashtray didn't really care for them when younger. He was deeply absorbed in being a troublemaker with his once-called best friend, Jada McLaren. Their notorious reputation echoed through the town, their bond forged in mischief and a shared spirit of rebellion.

Jada being so close with Ashtray was part of the reason she was disliked by most girls who had an eye for the boy. Due to her and Ash sharing a close childhood.

It didn't bother the girl that much anymore, mainly because they had drifted away from each other resulting in the hate decreasing.

When the two had drifted apart, ashtray started hooking up with girls time to time. Not really having any reason for it, mainly just for "fun" and "a way to take things of his mind" the boy thought it was quite "normal" for the boys of East highland.

He had never claimed any girl he had hooked up with just one. Naomi Brown, she was quite known in East highland.

She had long natural coils that  would be put in a puff decorated with hair jewels, melanated brown skin. Her eyes were a captive shade of rich warm brown, reminiscent to the shape of luscious almonds.

That would easily draw people's attention leaving them mesmerized over such a small thing. She was very intimidating and would easily get away from problems with her pretty privilege.

Ash and her dated for almost a year, that was around the age of 14. They seemed to be happy although most girls still envied the couple others seemed to be happy for them.

The day jada had heard about the news made her feel low. A heavy weight pressed against her chest, she felt like sinking into a bottomless pit.She had always had a thing for ashtray but never really knew how to express it.

Jada had always thought that ash and her had at least something going on between the two. But was proven wrong after the news. She wasn't all that sad about it though due to Ashtray and her not being as close at they used too.

The girl got over it quickly. She was never desperate for love or any boy's attention, even though she wasn't the happiest about it. She let it happen, not blaming him because of how gorgeous Naomi was.

The emotions surrounding the situation were a mix of acceptance and a tinge of resignation, acknowledging the external factors at play in a way that softened the impact of the experience.

Ashtray always had girls falling for him. The boy did take advantage of it at age 15, but slowly learnt that it wasn't really something he wanted to do further on being involved in so much drama which wasn't a good look for him.

Although he still hooked up with girls time to time it wasn't as often as he used to.

Jada was just like Ashtray, boys falling for her as soon as she bloomed. She didn't really pay any mind to them, not wanting to date or get caught up in drama.

The day Jada started working at the store was the day he had got a weird feeling. Jada being around made him feel different, it made him remember the old times and how much he enjoyed being around the girl.

It was the day he had called things of with Samantha, wanting to hopefully rebuild a relationship with Jada. Missing her company.

Ashtray trusted his guts more than anything that day hoping for something more between him and Jada.

It felt like something he had missed the whole time. He could never share any of his personal life with the girls he was around, or talk about deep stuff with them.

He couldn't even break into a laugh attack with any of them In a genuine way. It was only Jada for some reason, the boy wasn't complaining though.

He didn't know how to start or where. A sense of hesitation lingered, fueled by the fear that his past hookup history might hinder the potential between them, a concern that had already proven true once before.

The weight of uncertainty and the haunting echoes of past experiences added a layer of vulnerability to his feelings.

Ashtray was gripped by fear. As hard as it is to believe, he didn't want to lose contact with the girl like he had once before.

The fear of repeating the past, of losing a connection that meant more than he might admit, added a layer of vulnerability to his emotions.
