It was Friday at last. The day she dreaded the most. She was currently lying on her bed. She had a sleepless night. She looked at her bedside clock and realised that it was already past seven in the morning. She heard her door bell ring and she couldn't help but wonder who it was. He said he'd be here by ten not seven.

She lazily stood up from the bed, putting on her waffle white dressing gown and tying it around her waist in a tight knot. She walked to the front door and looked through the peephole. She saw Benjamin standing behind the door. She opened the door blocking the way so he couldn't enter.

"You!" She said pointing at him. "Give me three good reasons why I should let you in."

He looked at her with a forced smile. He knew she'd be angry at him. He hadn't spoken to her ever since that faithful Tuesday when Nick decided she should meet his family.

"Because you love me..?..." He said giving her an apologetic look.

"Try again." She squinted her eyes at him and put her left hand on her waist.

"Because I'm sorry...?"

"Last chance."

"Because you are my favorite best friend." He said more certainly this time.

He could see her battle the smile that was about to spread over her face. She moved away from the door creating enough space for him to enter into her apartment.

"Coffee?" She asked whilst closing the door behind her.

"Yes please", he said following her into the kitchen. She moved around the counter and turned on the coffee making machine whilst he took a seat behind the counter.

"So.... how have you been? I must say I did miss you." Ben said with a huge grin.

"I've been fine. Busy. Frustrated. Annoyed...", she said whilst using her index finger to tick off the imaginary list in the air. "And the list goes on and on. It's a pretty long list. And I did not miss you."

"Wow... that's a long list indeed." He said emphasizing the word long. "If I'm not wrong, it has everything to do with Nick."

"Not everything... majority though", she said under her breath. She took a deep breath and said, "he's so rude, bossy, arrogant, proud...", she emphasised every word. The thought of him was really getting on her nerves.
"The most annoying part is that the arrogant idiot has not messaged or called me since our date on Wednesday."

"Idiot huh? Why haven't i thought about that since, it suits him. Wait... You guys went on a date?" He was perplexed. Now that's a new one for both of them, he thought to himself.

"I wouldn't call it that if I could think of a better word for what it was." She said as she got two mugs from the cabinet. "He literally commanded me to go out with him. Using the excuse that we needed to talk."

Benjamin smiled at her as she handed him a cup of coffee. Nick seems to be doing a good job getting on her nerves. The thought brought a smile on his face. Well she wasn't so immune to Nick like she'd want him to believe. She sat down beside him, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Why is he so rude? Does he think it hurts to be polite?" She asked. Not really directing the question to anyone. Benjamin looked at her with a small smile. He rolled his eyes at her. He knew she was a handful. He wondered if she knew that she was almost as bossy as Nick. Well like he said almost. At least she had her moments. Nick's moments were always.

"He wasn't always this way you know. He wasn't the most polite but it wasn't this bad." He said with a forlorn face.

"Are you trying to tell me that there was a time when Nicholas Roxton said the magic words?" She asked looking surprised. She couldn't believe it.
