When she woke up the next morning Nick had gone to the office already. He left a note similar to the one he left the other morning. This time he wrote, 'might not be back before dinner'. This brought a smile on her face.
She was going to his office. She needed to get on with the designs her mother asked her for.
She was dressed in a straight blue sleeveless dress. She wore a black sling-back open toes shoe and carried a black bag. Her makeup was light. She then packed her hair into a high lose bun and carried a black blazer.
When she was satisfied with her look, she went to have her breakfast. She left the house once she told Hannah and Antonia where she was going. She didn't want them looking for her.
When she got to the front, she saw Taylor and Seth waiting for her by a black Audi R8. She greeted them and stepped into the car.
Once they were all seated in the car, Seth asked, "Where to ma'am?"
"Please call me Anna and take me to Nick's office." She said.
"Is Mr. Roxton aware you're going to the company?" He asked her.
"He will be once he sees me."
With that, Taylor started the car and began to drive. She noticed that Taylor had not said a word to her. He only acknowledged her presence with a slight nod. She was happy that at least Seth was with them. At least he seemed more friendly than Taylor.
The ride to the company was barely twenty-five minutes. Once she got to the building, there was a huge e-sign; 'ROXTON INT'L CORPORATIONS'. Seth had used his I.D card to grant her access into the building. Once she entered the building, she noticed people staring at her. She was wondered why they kept sending her curious glances, then she noticed Seth had been following her closely.
"Can't you wait for me somewhere, no one's going to take me away whilst I'm here." She said turning to look at him. "Besides your pulling attention my way."
With a nod, he stepped aside. She walked over to the lady at the reception.
"Good morning ma'am. How may I help you?" The lady asked with a smile that seemed genuine enough. She was a blond lady. Pretty. Her makeup looked much but fitted her perfectly.
"I'm here to see Nicholas." She replied with a little smile of her own.
"Do you have an appointment with Mr. Roxton?" She asked, suddenly becoming tense. She maintained the smile on her face which suddenly appeared forced.
"Just let him know Miss Annabel Williams is here to see him."
The lady picked up the phone and made a call. Once she was done, she looked up at Anna and asked her to go to the fifteenth floor. Anna thanked her and made her way to the elevator.
"Hello, I'm here to see Nicholas," She said to the lady behind the desk. "Is he in?"
Anna looked at the lady. She didn't even acknowledge her presence. When she saw Anna walking towards her, she just continued doing whatever it was she was doing without acknowledging her. How unprofessional.
There was a huge door behind the lady. Anna assumed that would be the door to his office seeing that it was there were only three doors on that floor. There was another table beside the lady, which was empty.
"And you are?" The lady asked tucking her blonde hair behind her ear. She looked up at Annabel with a frown.
"Ms. Annabel."
"Do you have an appointment with Mr Roxton?" She asked curtly. Almost sounding rude.
Annabel was getting irked by the lady's attitude. "I believe I don't need an appointment to see him. Just tell him Ms. Anna---"
