"Nick please put me down." She said when she noticed that he was carrying her all the way to the dining room.

"Ok", he said and pretended to drop her. She quickly wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. Holding unto him in fear of falling.

She shrieked in fear, "What is wrong with you?!"

She saw his amusement and laughter dance in his eyes as he looked down at her. She wanted nothing more than to wipe that smug look from his face.

"I thought you wanted to be put down." He said, barely containing his laughter.

"Not like that." She said through gritted teeth.

She didn't like the fact that he was enjoying this, at her own expense. Once they were outside the dining room, he gently dropped her in front of the closed door and opened the door for her.

He watched her straighten out her shirt. When she was done, she stepped into the dining without looking his way. He heard her mutter, 'arrogant idiot', just before she stepped in. He chuckled lowly to himself as he followed behind her.

His family were already seated, waiting for them. She felt her cheeks warm up when she noticed all eyes were on them as they stepped in. He held her hand and assisted her to sit beside him as he sat at the head of the table.

Dinner was peaceful. They made small conversations here and there. Hannah had asked her about her mother. Antonia on the other hand, asked her questions about herself, which she answered whole heartedly. She could comfortable say that his mother and grandmother liked her.

She couldn't say the same for his sister though. Olivia sat there observing her quietly. Without saying a word. She was polite though. Annabel felt she just needed time to adjust and open up to her.

Once she got back to their room, she made her way to the closet. She noticed that her clothes had been unpacked and arranged neatly. Creating her own space. She picked her pyjamas and stepped out to the room.

She saw Nick on the bed with his MacBook, typing away furiously as a slight frown marred his face. She noticed he had taken off his shirt and was now shirtless. He looked extremely sexy just the way he was. She had the urge to run her fingers through his hair and down his chest.

"Your staring," Nick said without looking up.

She scoffed at being caught, "I was just wondering who and when my things were arranged in your closet."

"Agatha. When we were out of the room." His gaze was still glued on the laptop. She remembered that Agatha was the head cook and maid.

She made a mental note to thank the woman later on. She looked at him once more before making her way to the bathhouse with a slight shake of her head. She couldn't believe how rude Nick was. He didn't even lift his head to look at her whilst talking to her.

She came out of the bathroom in her pyjamas. The trousers had little donuts designs everywhere on it. The shirt was a tank top and it had a saying, "dOnut disturb". The 'O' was a large donut.

He looked up at her when she stepped out of the bathroom. She looked beautiful. He roamed his eyes all over her body. He stared at her sexy lips for what seemed like eternity but was merely five seconds. His eyes then moved lower to were her blossoms rested. He quickly diverted his eyes back to her eyes and noticed that she was also looking at his body.

With a smirk, he said, "I thought you'd never come out." He said looking back down at his laptop. He needed to calm himself down.

She snapped out of the state she found herself in. Indeed the man was hot. She could feel his heated gaze on her when she came out of the bathroom. She wanted to divert her eyes from looking at him, but rather she found herself admiring his body.

"Thinking about it, I just realised that you're the Annie Nana always talks about. She always spoke about this Annie girl she wanted me to meet. How my overly busy schedule wouldn't suit this Annie lady... alot more. I just wonder why I never suspected it was you. I mean we've been seeing ourselves at least once a week for the past three or four years now." He said looking up at her.

"I always knew I was the smarter one," she poked out her tongue at him. "Well... for my credit, I always knew you were the Nicki Hannah always spoke about."

"Then Why didn't you ever mention it to me before?"

"We were hardly on an acquitance note. We hardly spoketo each other... and besides what was I to say, 'hey Nicki, I'm the Annie your grandmother told you, let's fall in love and make her happy'", she said in a high pitched voice. "Definitely not."

"That wouldn't have been such a bad idea you know." He said with a broad smile.

She looked at him as though he was mad anf decided to ignore his remark and just go to bed. With a heavy sigh, she made her way to the other side of the bed.

She used two pillows to create a wall at the middle of the bed, in between them. She then dragged a pillow from behind Nick and placed on her side of the bed.

Nick gave her a confused look. He was wondering why she took away one of his pillows. When he looked at the other pillows that she had used to demarcate the bed, he gave her an 'are-you-serious' look. She merely gave him an innocent look in return.

He decided to take one of the pillows that she had placed in the middle of the bed. She quickly held the pillow to stop him.

"No!" Her was voice louder than she intended.

"I'm not playing this game with you, young woman," He gave her one of his serious look.

"But... I wasn't playi--"

"No buts", he said firmly. "Now, remove the pillows and come over here."

He closed his laptop without bothering to turn it off and placed it on his bed side table. His work could wait. He had more important things to sort out. He had to show her that she didn't have to be scared of him. Afterall they were supposed to be together.

"I said come over here", he repeated when she made no attempt to move the first time. She just looked at him like he was insane.

He decided to remove the pillows that she had placed in between them and pulled her closer to him. She heard the faintest gasp from her lips. Her body tensed.  He looked down at her and stroked her hair in an attempt to calm her down. It was softer than it looked.  Her hair had a fruity scent. He couldn't stop himself from pulling her closer to him.

She was beyond shocked. He didn't just pull her close to him, now he was stroking her hair. This man was something else. Unpredictable, yet predictable. She was too shocked that she couldn't bring herself to form words.

A part of her was enjoying the attention and warmth of his body. Another part knew she should push him away and stay away from him. But she couldn't help it.

She made herself comfortable in his arms. She draped one arm around his torso, and wrapped her legs around his legs. She adjusted her head on his chest, snuggling closer, taking in his musky scent. He smells perfect.

It was his turn to be surprised, and she was happy when he tensed up, but he regained himself almost immediately.

"You ok now?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around her.

"Mhmm hmm..." She kissed him on his chest and said a low 'goodnight'.

He kissed her at the crown of her head and said, "Goodnight Belle."
