When they arrived at his parents house at the prestigious part of town, Anna was fast asleep. She had been in and out of sleep whilst they were on the plane. She looked so peaceful whilst sleeping that he didn't want to disturb her, he merely carried her to the awaiting Range Rover. He was tired himself. The drive to his family house was long and quiet.
He gently carried her out of the car and made his way to the front door. The door swung open before he could ring the bell.
"Nicky!!! Omg I've missed you soo mu---", he silenced his grandmother with a low hush whilst looking down at the sleeping form of Annabel in his arms.
"I'm soo sorry I didn't realize she was asleep. She looks so beautiful and strikingly familiar." Hannah said in a low voice as she stood on her tiptoe to see Anna's face, who was snuggling her face against his chest
"Indeed Nana but I doubt you know her." He whispered back. "I better take her to bed, I believe she'd be more comfortable on a bed than in my arms."
"Sure son, sorry." She said moving aside. He merely nodded his head and made his was to his room. Once he entered his room, he placed her on his bed and sat down beside her. She was still sound asleep. She looked peaceful indeed as she slept. One could mistaken her as a quiet angel. Well that was until you provoked her, or she felt like challenging your opinion. He had to go downstairs and meet his family. He checked the time and saw that it was already a few minutes past five in the morning. He really needed to rest. The earlier he sees his family, the better.
He made his way to the sitting room on the ground floor where he saw his mother, sister and grandmother sitting down and whispering to themselves. He cleared his throat twice to make his presence known.
"Nick!!!" His younger sister, Olivia, squealed in delight at the sight of him. She jumped up from where she sat and ran towards him, giving him a very tight hug. "I've missed you soo much", She said holding him tighter and placing her head on his chest.
"I've missed you too Olive", he said with a genuine smile hugging her back and ruffling her hair.
"Olivia let your brother breathe, will you", his mother, Antonia, said. She immediately did so and gave him an apologetic look, which he replied by giving her a reassuring smile.
"Mother... how have you been?", he walked up to his mother and kissed her cheeks. He sat in between his mom and his grandmother then said, "I've missed you all."
"My baby boy... you have no idea how much we've missed you love", his mom said hugging him. His grandmother joined in the hug, hugging his other side. Before he realised what was happening, his sister was on his lap hugging his neck tightly and it became a family group hug.
"Alright ladies... I get the point, you all missed me... I-- I can't breathe", they all pulled apart saying sorry and giggling. He stood up and kissed each of them on their cheeks telling them he was going to rest for a while.
When he got into his room, he noticed that Anna was still fast asleep. He helped her remove her shoes and tucked her under the blanket pushing her hair out of her face. He quickly undressed himself leaving just his boxers on. Once his head laid on his pillow, he slept off.
He felt someone shake him violently, asking him to wake up. He slowly opened his eyes to see a face towering above his. Anna had an irritated frown on her face. Her hair framed her face as she looked down at him. She looked beautiful with her dark eyes, which reminded him of melted chocolate and a straight nose. Her lips looked inviting as she pouted. He would love nothing more than to kiss her senseless at that moment.
"Move away before I kiss you." His voice sounded husky. Not what he'd expected it to sound like. Firm.
He watched as she scurried away from him. She had a shocked expression on her face. Her cheeks were flushed. She looked really cute blushing. He couldn't help but smile at her. He never expected his words to have that much effect on her. Although he had said it as a joke, now he wished he could just kiss her.
