Mingi

I waited anxiously for Hongjoong to figure out something, anything to explain what happened to me that day. Was it just a freak accident? Or a coincidence? Maybe I was worried for nothing!

It didn't get easier and I got so worried. What if Seonghwa could tell that there was something wrong with me? Or maybe Hongjoong already told everyone. Why was I so close to losing my mind? I just wanted to know what was happening to me.

I got a call from Hongjoong saying he found something so I could head over to the publishing company. It was the little bit of hope I needed to keep going. I took my mom's car to drive over there and I ignored her complaints about where I would be going so late at night.

I listened to the voicemail he sent me.

"Mingi, I know things are stressful right now but you can relax. We're going to figure things out. I love you, I'll see you when you get here."

I let out a relieved breath. Some of the previous weight on my shoulders being lifted.

Annoyingly though, there was a huge road block before I could get into down town. "Fuck. Really?" I muttered, leaning back in my seat. Couldn't anything go my way? Why did construction have to happen right now?

I didn't even notice the car behind me until I heard the screeching of tires, making me jolt as I looked back.

There was no time to react before the front of their car slammed into the back of mine and my foot slipped off the break. It sent my car being shoved forward and then I hit something.

I slammed my foot down on the break, staring in front of me. My whole body was locked up and I could barely breathe. I was too dumbstruck but then I heard the screams and I looked through my front mirror.

Was that...was that blood?

I saw the stop sign that was previous being held up by a construction worker laying in the middle of the road a couple of feet away, but I couldn't see the man from earlier anywhere. Which I knew wasn't good, especially from the looks of the people outside.

Looking straight at the front of my car.

I felt sick to my stomach.

No...no please tell me-

A surge of heat and pain rippled through my body and I felt a scream break out of my throat like my whole face was being slammed against a cement block repeatedly.

My gums ached and a migraine took ahold of my head. Every breath was agony and it was just too hot. Too hot to do anything but just sit there, locked up in the position I was in and let the pain torment me.

It hurt.

It hurt so fucking bad I couldn't stand it.

I wanted it to be over with.

What was happening to me?
