A/N: Homophobic language and violence

Mingi

"When are you going to stop being a dick to Seonghwa?" Yunho asked once we were leaving biology.

I scoffed, "Are you serious right now? You too?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. They all seem to trust him and he seems nice. Maybe give him the benefit of the doubt."

I ignored it and continued walking.

He grabbed my arm to stop me. "I'm just saying make an effort. You're like this with everyone. Always so standoffish. You were the same way with Yeosang and San too and somehow they managed to tolerate your ass."

"You know, I really thought at least you'd back me up." I shrugged his hold on me off.

"Maybe you're too focused on worrying who will back you up, that you've never considered you might be wrong." Yunho said.

I clenched my jaw. "Yeah. Because I'm always the wrong one."

I walked away, leaving him standing there.

"Aren't they just a bunch of fags though?" A football player said to his friend.

"Yeah, all of them. It's pretty disgusting if you ask me. What happened to that one bitch's step dad? I think that was god sending him a message." The other one said.

The football player huffed a laugh. "Goddamn. Getting all righteous over here."

"Hey man, if my son turned out to be anything like that homo, I'd also wish for the sweet embrace of death."

I gritted my teeth, not being able to bare it anymore. I slammed my pool cue into the ball, but my anger was already too much so I fucked up my shot. "You okay?" Dami asked, not used to seeing me fuck up like that.

I put my stick on the table and walked over to the pricks who couldn't keep their mouth shut. "Did you say you wished for death?" I asked.

One of the pieces of shit sized me up, scoffing at me. "Aren't you one of those gay stoners? What the fuck do you want faggot?"

"I want to see you in red." I said and it was like the anger swelled in my gut, turning into rage and I couldn't see anything anymore. Everything turned black.

Seonghwa

"Thanks for getting me something to eat." Hongjoong said as we walked towards Mystic grill.

I rolled my eyes, "And what? Watch you starve yourself in front of computer? Who do you think I am?"

He smiled at me and held the door open so I could walk in first.

"Oh my god-" I breathed.

"What?" Hongjoong asked, following my line of sight.

I didn't hesitate while I bolted over to the scene, watching Dami clearly struggle to hold Mingi back. He was going to kill those kids- they looked almost dead already.

"Mingi! Mingi!" I shouted, using my strength to rip him off of them. I had never seen such a wild look in somebody's eyes before. He looked like he was in a trance. I looked back to the kids. "Check to see if they're still breathing. Dami, watch him!"

She nodded, looking confused as I raced through the bar, grabbing everyone's phones to stop them from recording or calling 911. Then I locked the door and made my way through each and every person, taking my time to compel them to forget what they just witnessed.

"How long before we got here?" I asked once I finished with the last one, absolutely exhausted already.

"You saw the beginning." She said, protectively having her hand flat against Mingi's chest.

I walked up to Mingi and pulled him after me, going towards the bathroom as Hongjoong was the one to call 911 for paramedics. They'd arrive and believe they just started fighting each other.

I pinned him up against the sink, grabbing ahold of his face and opening his eyes.

"What the fuck are you doing?!" He snapped.

I smacked his hands away and checked his face again. "Were you compelled to do that?" I asked.

"What? No-"

"Mingi, tell me right now. Are you on vervain?" I hissed, my voice coming out sharper then I intended it to.

"Yes!" He seethed.

I grabbed his wrist and bit into it, making him scream in the process.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!"

I ended up choking, the burn being enough to make me dizzy. His blood was definitely laced with vervain. "You do not get to say that shit!" I came back with the same harshness he was carrying with me. "You get to stay here and let me figure this out because I did not just compel everyone in this restaurant to forget about what you just pulled so you can act like a fucking child!"

He cowered a little.

I pushed off of him, taking deep breaths as I paced in the bathroom. "You could've kill them, Mingi. Do you have any idea how bad that is? How bad it would've been if I wasn't here? You would be in fucking jail!"

"So?!" He raised his voice at me. "Why do you care?!"

I slammed my fist into the wall, causing the stone to crack and it made him stare at me wide eyed. It was the only thing I could do without wanting to lay hands on him. Sure, he was acting out and yes, I was pissed. But I wouldn't hit him.

I blew out a long breath and put my face in my hands. "I care...I don't fucking know why. I wish I didn't because you're starting to get on my nerves. What you did today was stupid. Really stupid."

He swallowed hard, seeming a lot more hesitant now with his anger.

I tried to calm down a little, knowing that my own anger wasn't helping the situation at all. If anything, it probably just made him hate me more.

I grabbed his hand gently, looking at the bite mark that was on his wrist. "Do you want some blood? To heal faster?"

"I don't want vampire blood in my system." He muttered, still seeming pissed.

"Okay." I said, trying to be soft with him. "Come to the publishing company then, Hongjoong keeps a first aid kit there. I'll be able to wrap this up for you."

"Did you really think I was compelled?" He asked.

My lips thinned as I stared at him. "I thought you were going to kill them, Mingi."

My words made him dumbstruck, as they should've.

What happened today couldn't happen again.
