Kim Taehyung sipped his caramel macchiato, glaring at the laptop screen as if it had personally offended him. His fingers tapped impatiently on the table, a sure sign that he was growing frustrated. He was supposed to be finishing his final project for his art class, but his creative muse seemed to have abandoned him at the worst possible moment.
In the corner of the small, cozy coffee shop, Taehyung noticed a group of university students huddled together, laughing and chatting. They were all betas and alphas, and Taehyung couldn't help but feel like the odd one out. As an omega, he was used to being in the minority, but today, it felt particularly lonely.
Just as Taehyung was about to give up and head home in defeat, the café door swung open with a jingle, and in walked Jeon Jungkook. He was the alpha of every omega's dreams, with his tall, muscular frame and tousled dark hair. He had a reputation for being a bit of a player, but that didn't stop omegas from swooning over him.
Taehyung couldn't deny that Jungkook was attractive, but he had also heard enough about Jungkook's flirtatious nature to know that he should steer clear. Unfortunately, Jungkook seemed to have other plans. He sauntered over to the counter and ordered a black coffee, flashing a charming smile at the barista.
As Jungkook waited for his order, his eyes scanned the café, and they landed on Taehyung. The omega immediately averted his gaze, pretending to be engrossed in his laptop. He didn't want to encourage Jungkook's advances.
But Jungkook was not easily deterred. With his coffee in hand, he made his way over to Taehyung's table and leaned against it, his grin widening. "Hey there," he said in a low, husky voice that sent shivers down Taehyung's spine.
Taehyung sighed inwardly and looked up at Jungkook, arching an eyebrow. "Can I help you with something?"
Jungkook's gaze didn't waver as he continued to smile. "I couldn't help but notice that you looked like you needed some company," he replied, his tone oozing confidence.
Taehyung rolled his eyes. "I don't need company, especially not from someone like you."
Jungkook chuckled, undeterred by Taehyung's dismissive attitude. "Someone like me, huh? What's that supposed to mean?"
Taehyung couldn't help but sneer. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe someone who thinks they can charm their way into anyone's heart with a smile and a few cheesy lines."
Jungkook's grin only grew wider. "Is that what you think of me? I promise you, I'm much more than just a handsome face and cheesy lines."
Taehyung couldn't deny that Jungkook was intriguing, but he wasn't about to let his guard down. "Well, I'm not interested, so you can go charm someone else."
Jungkook straightened up and took a step back, but he didn't seem ready to give up just yet. "Alright, alright, no need to be so cold. If you change your mind, you know where to find me." With a wink, he turned and walked away, leaving Taehyung both relieved and strangely disappointed.
As Taehyung watched Jungkook retreat, he couldn't help but wonder if he had just made a mistake by brushing off the alpha so quickly. Maybe there was more to Jungkook than met the eye. But for now, he needed to focus on his project and forget about the distracting alpha who had just waltzed into his life.
