Over the next couple of weeks, Taehyung's encounters with Jungkook became a regular part of his life. It seemed like no matter where he went on campus, the alpha had a knack for showing up. Taehyung couldn't decide if it was fate or just bad luck.
One sunny afternoon, Taehyung found himself in the university's art studio, his brushes and palette in hand, trying to bring his latest masterpiece to life. His focus was so intense that he didn't notice Jungkook's approach until the alpha cleared his throat.
Taehyung jumped, nearly smearing a streak of vibrant blue across his canvas.
"fuck!"
He turned to see Jungkook standing there, a playful grin on his face. "You really need to work on your situational awareness, Taehyung."
Taehyung scowled, wiping his hands on a nearby rag. "What are you doing here, Jungkook? Can't you see I'm trying to work?"
Jungkook shrugged, his eyes flicking to the canvas. "Just wanted to see what you're creating. I heard you're quite the talented artist."
Taehyung couldn't help but blush at the compliment, even if it was grudgingly given. "Flattery won't get you anywhere with me Jeon"
Jungkook chuckled, clearly unfazed by Taehyung's attitude. "You're a tough one to crack, Kim."
Taehyung huffed, turning back to his painting. "I've heard that before."
For a few minutes, they fell into a comfortable silence as Taehyung continued to work on his art. But of course, it didn't last long.
"You know," Jungkook began, his voice teasing, "I can't help but wonder why you're so resistant to my charms."
Taehyung rolled his eyes, not bothering to look at Jungkook. "Charms? Is that what you call it?"
Jungkook leaned against a nearby table, a smirk playing on his lips. "What would you call it, then?"
Taehyung paused, searching for the right words. "Persistence, maybe. Or arrogance."
Jungkook chuckled, and the sound sent a strange warmth through Taehyung. He shook his head, determined to stay focused on his work. "You'll have to try harder than that, Jungkook."
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, his gaze never leaving Taehyung. "Challenge accepted."
The next hour was a whirlwind of bickering and banter. Taehyung and Jungkook seemed to have a talent for pushing each other's buttons, trading barbs and witty comebacks with ease. It was as if they were engaged in a never-ending battle of wills.
At one point, Jungkook reached over and picked up one of Taehyung's paintbrushes, dipping it into a pot of bright red paint. Taehyung gasped in horror as Jungkook made a playful swipe across his cheek.
"You've got a little something there," Jungkook said with a smirk.
Taehyung's cheeks burned with embarrassment as he tried to wipe the paint away. "You're insufferable."
Jungkook laughed again, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "But you can't deny that I make things interesting, can you?"
Taehyung sighed, realizing that he was fighting a losing battle. Jungkook had a way of getting under his skin, and as much as he hated to admit it, he was starting to enjoy their playful exchanges.
As the sun began to set outside the art studio window, Taehyung and Jungkook finally called a truce from their relentless bickering. They cleaned up their respective messes and exchanged a surprisingly civil goodbye.
As Taehyung watched Jungkook walk away, he couldn't help but smile to himself. Maybe Jungkook was more than just a charming alpha with a reputation. Maybe there was something deeper beneath the surface, something worth getting to know.
