"Nina, Nina."

I squinted my eyes open, while slowly lifting my hands to rub my eyes. Whoever was waking me up was definitely asking to be on my bad side today.
"Hey sleepy head." I felt my hair being tousled, and a smile broke out onto my face. "Good morning dad." He and my mom must of got back from there work trip late last night considering he was wearing pajama pants and a matching pajama shirt. He leaned down and kissed my forehead. His smile was very evident. He was happy about something. My dad was in my opinion good looking. He had a little bit of grey hair hi lighting the black hair but it fit him. He was very tall and he and my mother were very fit. If they weren't out on business or home with me they were at the gym.

"What are you all smiles for?" I asked while sitting up in my bed, kicking the blankets away from me. "And why isn't the air on." The summer heat was killing me, obviously more then my parents. My dad continued to smile at me. "The air is on Nina. Why don't you stop sleeping in sweaters? You will be much cooler. Anyway Our move was a success! We own all four office locations now Isn't that great honey!" My dad announced excitedly. That actually was good news but that only meant my mom and dad were gonna be out working more, running there businesses and I would be here...alone. I guess there was some advantages to having a huge house to yourself so yeah, I got a little happy about that. "That's great dad." I leaned forward and hugged him.

He padded my back as we hugged. "We also have a big dinner here tonight." I leaned my head back so I could look up at him. "My old boss and his family are joining us, so I expect you to be dressed up by 7:30pm ready to meet them. no excuses Nina." He raised his eyebrows. He knew me better then I knew myself because I was definitely about to come up with a lie about not being able to stay for that treacherous dinner. "Daaaaaaad." I groaned at the thought of sitting at our dinner table with his annoying boss, talking super fast using big words to describe how their day went.

"What does your 'Big dinner' have to do with me? "Why do I have to be here?" I have my most promising, pissed off look. "Because you are my daughter Nina, and when your father invites people who are important to him to dinner, I think it's appropriate that they meet my household and vice versa. Don't you think it would be rude to my former boss, that I brag about you all day but your not here to meet him when the time finally comes?" He stared at me and I just stared back. I could careless about what his boss thought but I did care about my dads feelings. "7:00pm kiddo." He tapped my head and walked out of my room. I sighed and yelled back at him. "I thought you said 7:30!"

"7 o'clock!" he shouted.
I groaned loudly while checking my cell phone. I had a missed call from my best friend who was in iceland for a month to see her grandparents. I immediately dialed her number back feeling shocked that it was ringing. Her phone usually didn't work all the way down there.

"Nina!" She shouted as her greeting. My eyes widened as I held the phone closer to my ear.
"Oh my gosh! Dana! Your phone is working in neverland." I joked and she laughed because we kept trying to call each other while she was there and the cell reception sucked. "No I'm back home, I'm coming over right now."

I felt like my life ended when she wasn't around. Now I felt like everything was going to be back to normal now that I knew she was home. "Hurry up!"
I told her and ended the call. About an hour later I was showered and dressed. I decided black biker shorts and a grey plain shirt would do it today. I didn't do anything to my hair and let it lay down against my back. It was so long that it reached my butt. I stopped in my moms office which was next to her bedroom to greet her while she was making phone calls, and then I went downstairs to wait for Dana. I watched from my dinning room window as Dana exited her moms car right out front of my house. Also outside next door was Noah, and one his delinquent friends. Yes he was my neighbor, lucky me. I noticed I didn't recognize his friend being from school, but the more I stared at the brown haired guy I remembered him being one of the guys from the crowd of the fight last night.

As soon as Dana's mom pulled away from the house Noah's friend began cat calling and whistling at her. My mouth hand over my mouth I watched in horror as she smiled to herself like a freaking school girl when he began walking towards her. Noah just sat on his step, watching his friend flirt with Dana.

Dana what the hell are you doing! My brain screamed. I watched as she tucked her dark brown hair behind her ear and flirted back with the guy . He then handed Dana his phone for her to type on it. They smiled at each other once she was done and he watched her while she made her way towards my front door. The guy and Noah then disappeared into Noah's house. I stomped to my front door greeting Dana with a skeptical glare. "Hiiiiiiii! Whoa. Whatsup with that face?" Dana hugged me and walked in. "The house looks great!" She announced, placing her book bag by the door and continuing her walk into the dinning room.

"You know the house looks the same." I sarcastically stated. "What were you doing outside?" I questioned while walking behind her. "Nothing." Her voice was light, she was trying so hard to act nonchalantly. "My mom gave me extra cash, maybe we can go out. Oh Is this a new couch?" She had her hand on the arm of the couch and was staring at me with innocent eyes.

"Stop stalling!" I shrieked. "Tell me why you were talking to that misfit?" I lowered my voice a little because my mom and dad were in the kitchen talking now. I crossed my arms. "You know anyone that hangs with Noah is a BIG no no. They are alway getting into trouble at school. Why would you talk to that guy anyway?"

"Oh my goodness Nina stop being so dramatic." She replied while flopping down on the couch.
I rolled my eyes. "I am not dramatic."
Dana smirked at me. "Yes you are, look at how your acting. Besides, he only asked me for my number so we could hang out sometime...and so we could come see him fight on Friday." Dana squeezed her eyes shut because she knew I was gonna blow up at that. "See what I mean!" I shrieked while stepping forward toward her. "That's dangerous! Do you even know what they do? They all gather in this abandoned house and beat each other up until someone is close to dying!"

"No they don't! He told me what they do!" Dana huffed. "See what I mean Nina your so damn dramatic over everything!" She folded her arms and her shoulder length dark brown hair flowed around her face. "Whatever Dana, your crazy if you think I am going to that fight, I already saw it once. Never again." I folded my arms and Dana smiled sneakily, and as she did she came over to the couch that I was on. She nudged my arm with her arm which made me shake my head and laugh.

"What if I told you someone wanted you to be there with me?" I unfolded my arms and gave her a skeptical look. "Someone like who?"

A big smile spread across her face as she said:
"Someone like Noah."
