Safety at last

MINHO'S POV

I watched as the two girls fell into the burning void below them, Thomas was just staring down from where Teresa and that girl had fell, I feel kinda bad calling her that girl though, she helped save me from WCKD, and I didn't even know her name.

Vince had finished pulling Thomas up and we were just staring down into the burning rubble below. Thomas was screaming down for Teresa but the rest of us were silent, remembering what Teresa had said before she fell, I reached into Thomas's pocket, pulling out a small syringe of blue liquid. Ignoring everyone else, I rushed over to Newt injecting him with the cure, I sat there for a minute, waiting for something to happen, I watched his eyes slowly flutter open,

"Thank god your alive you stupid shank" I said pulling in for a hug, I hadn't noticed the others standing around me until I pulled away from Newt. He looked up at all the people standing around him, then his brow furrowed,

"Why does my head hurt so much?"

"That would have been Tilly" Gally said smiling sadly, "thought it would be better to knock you out than kill you"

He smiled back up at the tall boy, then looked around, a confused look crossing his face again

"Where is she?"

I looked back up at the others, we were all exchanging similar looks, nobody wanted to tell Newt she was dead.

"She was on the roof with Teresa-" Brenda started, her voice catching in her throat, I knew she was crying without looking at her, had they been close? I would never know now that she was dead.

"She had been trying really hard" Fry continued.

"Newt, Tilly's dead" Gally got straight to the point.

BRENDA'S POV:

I was full on sobbing like a baby now, but could you really blame me, my sister, who wasn't really my sister, had just died. She had fucking said to me she wasn't planning on dying. Why would she be so stupid there was time for her to get on the back of the berg!

I looked back towards where Jorge was sitting, piloting the berg and walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder,

"I'm sad she is gone too Brenda, but we need to stay strong for the rest of them until we get back to the safe haven"

I nodded, "Ok, I'll see you later Jorge" I turned and walked over to Gally. We talked all the way back to the safe Haven. We both needed a distraction from what had just happened, we were the closest with her, so we thought it would be nice to share our fondest memories about the brunette girl. I went first,

"One day when we were coming out from the scorch with some supplies, we were our all day so we were super tired. We started going up the stairs, she thought she could walk and talk at the same time, but no, she tripped up the stairs landing on her face, then when she stood back up the fell back down the way we came doing a few somersaults on the way"

We were both laughing like madmen now, it was a bit of a shock to the system after what we had just been through,

"Ok my turn, I was gonna say something very similar, but she clearly already had a bad history with stairs, so... oh yeah, this is how I met her, I was doing my thing on the truck as normal and there was a loud crash from the front of the truck, we all looked to see what it was and we had hit her with a the car, she was being really dramatic about it so we took her back to base where she proceeded to, you guessed it, fall down the stairs" He paused a moment whilst laughing, "Oh and then there was the time I made her run and get me something with me, and you know how she has kinda weak ankles, well we had been running for most of the time and we stopped and took a break because she couldn't run anymore, but she looked drunk and I was laughing so much at it that I also looked drunk, so we went into the store to buy what I needed and the guy out the front asked if we had anymore drink and we both just lost it, and then we got kicked out of the store for being so stupid"
